hi everybody im new. dont no if i am putting this in right place but ive been trying to forge coz the blacksmith takes too much ive managed a few times but i found it difficult to understand how to forge properly i think the forging page and forging formulae page should change , it should be made more clear about how to forge.and i recently got a katana(Thanks Dan)and i tried to forge that but gave up. in the forging page it say katana +(80,24) and on the katana page under forging it say +(80,25) or the other way around i cant remember. i thank anyone who will help me. although i might be just stupid and not understand it.i am sure bout the katana bit.sorry if this has been posted somewhere else .

Compared to forging at a low Minion Power Rate, the blacksmith is actually very cheap...
If you are forging the +, make sure you really did select to-hit when selecting the weapon.
Trading your weapons, or asking someone else to forge for you (for a fee) are better options.

But before you think of upgrading your weapons, I first would do something about your armor. As soon as possible. Please.
Double Chain Mail is without any doubt the worst possible armor there is. Heaume claims the second place in the same category.

Kangterdo never uses his Glaive. Try to figure out why, and you'll know what set of stats/spells are useless on your character.

Tergun is a little bit more useful if he would be the first minion in line.

lets see if i can help.
http://cb2.carnageblender.com/faq/one?scope=public&faq_id=130
so first go there and read thru the links,

if the formula says something like x[100] [25]
that would be you would be forgeing the damage, heat 100 min. so 10 10 min. then cast the first spell(i think its viciousness) then you would cool it(you cool till you get another rpm increase) then you would heat it for 25 min. so 2 10 min. and a 5 min. then cast hardening then cool it till rpm increase then start over,

you do that till it goes up 1 x or you get bored.

ok don't have to be so harsh.i took the glaive off and please tell me why double chain mail is so bad and the helmet

Flamey November 14 2005 2:15 AM EST

DCM has the worst stats. From the Wiki,
Negative 20% to DX and Skills
Negative 15% to Direct Damage Spells (DD) casted by the wearer
Negative 11.25% to Enchant Offense Spells (EO) casted by the wearer
Negative 10% to Enchant Defense Spells (ED) casted by the wearer
Negative 5 to Unarmed Combat (UC) used by the wearer, additional to the Skills penalty

If that doesn't dissuade you, not sure what will. =)

Expensive in upgrades, and comes with very high penalties to DX and Magic.

Adrian Exodus November 14 2005 2:16 AM EST

from the wiki on chain mail:

Due to relatively high penalties compared to the AC it affords, Chain Mail should be avoided wherever possible.
A Steel Brigandine is an inexpensive alternative to Chain Mail which offers both higher AC and lower penalties.

from the wiki on double chain mail:

Friends don't let friends wear Double Chain Mail, use an Adamantite Cuirass instead.

Twice as worthless as a Chain Mail.

penalties take away a % of your trained dex or str..high penalties suck :P

My suggestion is try to go easy on the weapons. I suggest an Enchanter (Ablative Shield only), Tank (since you seem to want go for that: 1/4 HP, 1/4 Str, Max Dex), and Mage (1/4 HP and Max Fireball). At this stage, don't bother with armor, won't really help at the early stage.

ok thanks a lot i thought armor was just armor obviously it does things now i know to look at what it does. but the other advice about enchanter and tank.wouldn't that stuff me up or should i create new character and do what you said because im pretty lost at the moment.

i don't like this spell check im from Australia and we spell some words differently so i have to spell wrong to post

since you are just starting, just unlearn everything and re-learn. its as easy as that. :) also, regarding tanks, i suggest that you rent the weapons rather than forging yourself. i don't know if the ETM setup is good or not. but i think for a starting team, its not too bad. other more experienced people may have better suggestions though.
