Based on old D&D items. (Because Mages need a reason to use things other than a tattoo) Both of these items can only be equipped by a minion that has a trained DD spell.
Robe of the Arch-Magi
Base AC: 0 (or 5 Maybe
)
Each enchantment point raises AC by 1 and reduces AMF effect on wearer by 1%
Staff of the Magus
Has Base stats equal to a normal Staff.
Each point of + enchantment reduces DD damage taken by (fixed amount).
Each point of x enchantment provides a fixed DM level
This weapon has attack priority over DD spells.

After that mage staff still then GL? I guess it would keep your mage upright after a night out?
I think that there should be more high AC items without a magic penalty personally. Gloves, boots, helms, shields. Now that the magic bonus items are heavily weighted with regards to PR, give us some non bonus non penalty accessories for our fashion conscious magic teams...
Do you two ring each other up when it's time to begin the day's posting?
Feel free to ignore the staff, I know Mage weapons aren't going to get off of the FORS list, but you can't mention a Robe of the Arch-Magi (main idea, as it gives mages a viable option instead of wearing a tattoo) without mentioning the Staff of Magus!
;)
Ring? Who speaks to each other these days!
Quick text Bast! ;)

It's the highlight of our day...
Yup.
If you don't see me posting, you know they've actually given me work to do, or I've reached a deadline...
