Incredibly Long Post - my thoughts on CB2$ (in General)

Bootsanator December 4 2005 2:54 AM EST

Instead of hijacking another thread, I decided to just start this one. It is my basic opinions on all of this stupid crap everybody is arguing about. Feel free to argue amongst yourselves, but I think/hope this is all I have to offer.

First, and foremost...
THIS IS A GAME. THIS IS NOT A CAREER.
THE ONLY PERSON WHO DESERVES TO MAKE MONEY OFF OF THIS IS JONATHAN,
BECAUSE HE'S IS THE CREATOR AND MAINTAINER, AND WE OWE ALL OF THIS FUN TO HIM.
WE ALL LOVE YOU JONATHAN!
sorry about the caps. ok then.

It is the seller's right to sell at 15, or higher if they want, and
It is the buyer's right to buy at 10, or lower if they can get it.
It's their CB2 and they can do with it what they want (within the rules, duh).

Obviously, anyone who sells their CB2 would love to get more for it, and anyone who buys CB2 would love to pay less for it.

If there was only one seller, They could set the price, and
If there was only one buyer, They could set the price.
Neither is the case.

Scenario:
Someone has CB2 to sell. they post a thread, saying they want, oh, let's say 14 USD per mil for their 4 mil.
Someone offers 12 per mil. Offer is rejected. Someone offers 13 per mil. offer is rejected. nobody buys the 4 mil. big deal.
If the seller had wanted the CB2 sold that bad, they would have taken the 13 per mil bid, or if they really wanted it they would have taken the earlier bid.
If the buyer wanted the CB2 that bad, they would have gone higher.

It is not a buyers market and it is not a sellers market. it is a freakin market. everybody sets whatever price they want, and that is how it is gonna be.

It is within a person's rights to offer to buy all of central bank's money for a penny, or to offer to sell a base whip for 10 million CB2.
These are extreme examples, neither of which would be taken seriously, but my point is that:
If a seller wants 15, let them offer 15, and if a buyer will only pay 10, let them only pay 10.

If you will not take below 15, or 14, or whatever, then don't! good for you!

If you will not pay more than 10 because you think that is all that it is worth, then that is your right.

I joined August 19th. when i discovered the forums and found that this game was unique in that you could (brace yourself!) get real money for game stuff! i mean, i know that people sell game items all the time, but in most games it is generally discouraged. in this one, it is commonplace! a given! what!?!
The price for CB2 in August was 15 per million.
It was 15 per million for the longest time, and actually, it is only recently (well, it seems recent, but probably gradually through the past month) that the price dropped down to 10.
I actually was really surprised that it dropped that low at first, but, now I am not so surprised.

Random thoughts:

Just before the recalibration of the NUB, i was getting 1k a battle during wacky money time. i'm guessing that NUB folk now are able to do that still. imagine how much money is being generated there! suppose that the price may drop a little?

Also, how many more users are there now than there were before? I'd say that the amount willing to Get money from a game is increasing faster than the amount of people willing to put money into the game. CarnageBlender is a free game, and people with money mostly spend money on games that cost money.
Now, this is basically my favorite game ever, but, that doesn't mean everybody else out there will realize how cool this is. forget graphics, I can run circles around them with my Displacement Boots.

I don't have much else, there might be a couple more thoughts in my head, but after all of this, well, I forget. Indubitably anything I forgot will be brought up by all of you who have such heated opinions on the subject.

One thing i did forget to add to the end: if you read that whole post, holy crap, don't you have other things to do? ;)

I agree, there is NO set amount for CB2 $$$ its whatever the person wants to pay at that particular time and what someone wants to sell it for. If someone wants it bad enough...pay more...if you want to pay less...hang on.

Items are the same. IF you want something bad enough Pay...if not wait.

lol, your post wasn't THAT bad Boots. You were clear, concise, used short and to the point sentences, and it was well organized. Good reading. Although I am not sure if you had a main point, but I liked all your little points.

But I have to say I agree with you a lot. It takes both a buyer and a seller to have a deal. Each side has its own way of seeing things. If only people would realize this and stop arguing that their side is always right for reasons bla bla bla.

What I do not like is how "some" people are inserting unkindly and rather rude comments in these fs/wtb threads. I always thought highly of those who are in the top but I'm beginning to feel otherwise. What I pay for has got nothing to do with them and I do not need their inputs.

But I have to admit that the influx of cb2 from the NUB has made a major impact on the cost of cb2. There was a time when cb2 was worth a lot more.

Lastly, I find that if the sellers band together like the "major buyers" of cb2, the price of cb2 can be stablised to a certain extend. Start of a union? Anyone? :p

Just one point:

Deserve's got nothing to do with it. The economy doesn't care about your feelings. *smile*
