if you have it in front of your name, it bans you from chat, i think

the ! bans you from chat, it is called !48 to remind admins to remove it in 48 hours, which doesn't happen in cb2. You are banned for a month atleast ;)

You can get it removed after 48 hours but it is up to you to ask an admin to do it for you.
Or if you can't ask nicely then you have to wait until the 30 day wait on name changes to do it yourself.
And for you youngsters out there, it is 48! because when they started using it you could change your name every 2 days.
