for those of you who dont know im on a restricted computer. i got Firefox downloaded i start it up and no website can load and this message comes up.

The connection has timed out

The server at is taking too long to respond.

* The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few

* If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network

* If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

can i do anything through firefox to permit it?

Does it work with any other browser? If yes, then that browser probably has it's proxies properly set up, which a vanilla install of firefox won't have

The default homepage for Firefox is the Mozilla page - and it sounds like their server is down.

Your connection should still be OK. Try going to another site.
