Problem with default theme? (in General)

QBJohnnywas January 9 2006 6:17 AM EST

I just logged on. I have the 'default' theme. Today it's come up strange - it looks like the old Wordpad theme. The other themes all work fine, just the default.

Anybody else, or is it just me?

I've tried the default to see if I could replicate your problem but it works fine for me. I also checked some other themes and they work fine including the one I prefer, Ultramodern Blue.

I suggest (if you've not already) you try reloading the theme. If still not working log out of CB and finally reboot your PC if nothing else works.

If none of the above work then you still have two life lines left and can call a friend or take 50/50.

lol. I'm on the swift theme now. I used one of the other older themes and moved to another site then back to CB and that too had gone all 'WordPad'dy so it I guess it's a problem at my end. Work uses IE. If only I could persuade them to go Firefox......

Mmm. Ok, logged out, switched off, switched back on again (the IT cure all)...Now each theme I tried before are all coming up in this weird Wordpad style setting. I'm working my way through the themes.. They're all going to end up this way soon! And to think I wished for the old CB1 Wordpad theme.

Be careful what you wish for...... ;)

Granted: You have the CB1 wordpad theme, but you can't get anything else now.

I wish... oh wait, that's a different thread isn't it. My bad, sorry !

PS.
Does look like the problem (as you suspect) is on your side. Good luck.

Maybe you're not loading the stylesheet/images for each theme, hence each one looks the same.

It's my browser I think because if I go to another site I get thrown out of CB. I've had to log back in a few times already..

That happens to me every now and agian, a few minutes after logging in, after clicking on a link the right pane will send me back to the log in screen. :(

This problem occurs ever so often with me. Not as much now as it use to though. The "notepad" theme is really the website when striped away of all the CSS styles. For some reason your browser can't find or process the .css file. It could be your computer's fault or maybe Jon's server just doesn't like you and me.

Maelstrom January 9 2006 5:19 PM EST

Hmm... I have never had any trouble with the default theme, but how would I go about getting this "plain" CSS-less notepad-ish theme?

Why is CSS not recognized by the spellchecker?

Maelstrom January 9 2006 5:22 PM EST

Ahh! My wish has been granted, but I take it back! Suddenly the backgrounds have all disappeared, and I'm left with what you must have, Johnny.

Weird!

Maelstrom January 9 2006 5:36 PM EST

...???
That was short-lived. Back to normal now. I'll be good and stop complaining about themes...

QBJohnnywas January 12 2006 6:49 AM EST

Very weird. I've had a 'Wordpad' looking theme all week. None of the themes have worked. All ended up looking like that. And just then during a click on a fight, it crashed out on me - screenfreeze. When it un-froze my themes were back to normal...

gremlins.....

QBJohnnywas January 12 2006 6:59 AM EST

gone again...lol.

And the worst part is I can't mess with settings for the horrible IE. All the settings are locked. maybe I should do some work instead...
