Google Search Contest (in Contests)

No, you're not doing my history project for me. Just thought this would be interesting. Here's how it goes. Simply search for anything on Google that comes up with the most results and the least results. Separate prizes for each. Certain rules apply, however..
- Must be a PG search, of course. In other words, not something that you wouldn't want your parents to catch you searching for ;-)
- You cannot use special commands such as + - " " AND OR etc etc you get the idea. More than one word in the search is allowed.
- Send $5k to my character Jambalaya. Both winners will get 50% of whatever is on Jambalaya when the contest ends. I will put $25k there to start off with. Any money Jambalaya earns from battles or other events will serve as a bonus to the prize.
- Post here proof that you've paid, what you had searched for, and how many results you have gotten. Also include whether you are trying for most results or least, or else it might be hard to determine a winner..
- You may enter more than once. However, if you enter and say you are trying for most results, then you later decide you have a better chance of winning with the least results (heheh), you cannot change your decision.
- If someone posts the same thing you were going to post, and that particular search wins, the person that posted first will win the prize.
- Contest will end next week Saturday, or whenever interest dwindles to nothing.
Go ahead guys, for the time being it is not cheating to Google! ;-)

Change in rules. Your search must be at least 5 letters long. Don't really feel like ending this contest after not even 1 hour has passed :-P
To be fair, YNM and Aighdull get 1 free guess each, as they already paid. It appears flamewind is winning for least so far, congrats ;-) but that was an interesting and valid entry, ymi, just a bit late

Read the whole thread before you post.

including "the" for example, in your search should not qualify towards the 5 letter min, as google does not include that in their searches anyway. same goes for the other words google defines as 'too common'.
it includes it in the search if that's the only thing you are searching for.

maybe someone with more time on their hands could check this out?
as for the contest, I will submit to whatever 'the powers that be' decide, however, I stand by my numbers!

RedWolf
January 28 2006 2:22 PM EST
ok, done some digging..
maulaxe has a good point. If Google does not link the word in your search to a dictionary definition on Answers.com (if the word is not underlined) then that word does not count towards your 5 letter minimum. Of course, maulaxe, Oxtetor, Aigh, and ELF get 1 free guess each now.
http: is invalid because Google does not include the ":", so that is only 4 letters.
before anyone enters, these searches are also invalid:
Results 1 - 10 of about 8,700,000,000 for the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the . (0.34 seconds)

cheapskates :P
Heh, shouldn't I get three more guesses than since I sent 15k for answers that aren't allowed?
Anyways,
searched for "website"

RedWolf

Oxtetor, your "www www" and "www www www ww www www" entries were valid :-P
Oh cool. Then I'm winning =P
RedWolf
January 28 2006 2:55 PM EST
more confusion ... /me sighs
where Google tells you your results, like "Results 1 - 10 of about 7,260,000,000 for the www. (0.07 seconds)" whatever is underlined counts towards your 5 letter minimum. In this case, "www". However, in the search "Results 1 - 10 of about 8,700,000,000 for the the. (0.19 seconds)" nothing is underlined, so none of those words count.
I hope this clears everything
RedWolf
January 28 2006 2:58 PM EST
UPDATE:
YNM, Aigh, ELF, and maulaxe have 1 free guess each.
Oxtetor is currently winning for most; and
Flamewind appears to have own for least (unless you can get less than 1 result without getting no results ;-)
Results 1 - 10 of about 14,530,000,000 for search
Mansonfreek (NEWB) 152.163.100.203 [Red]Carcharoth (Jambalaya) $5000 -- contest 12:09 PM EST

search only shows
Results 1 - 10 of about 6,530,000,000 for search [definition].
for me
And as for manson's, the definition link is for the word "thread" not for "-thread", therefore only "thread" should count, which has a search query of:

Results 1 - 10 of about 22,780,000,000 for a
