No love for the Heavy Xbow. (in General)

What was once, many moons ago, THE last word in ranged combat is now the red-headed, illegitimate stepchild of the ranged class. Elvens, Compounds, Ax's and Ex's all have usurped the place of the once proud Hxbow. This saddens me to no end. :(

I guess not. And even little ginger brats spit on it in the street.

It's funny... Claymores and Lochs got neutered worse in the switch over to cb2, but that does not bother me. The mere thought though, of all these bow types trumping the good old HX makes me froth at the mouth.

I used to have a heavy xbow on my old tank in CB1. It was the upgrade costs that stopped me using it, that and the fact that I did more damage with archery and a compound. Shade proposed a higher power xbow to mirror the compound's place. But all you really need to do is lower the upgrade price and more people would use the heavy I think....

Or maybe Jon could create a "Super Heavy" Xbow. Like a ballista. Fires only once during ranged but has a monster base damage. :P

Sounds like a good idea! ;) What round would it fire on? And it would have a two round delay (if used in melee) opposed to the normal one.

I'd have it fire first round... seeing as it is probably an extreme range weapon at best. I'd also give it superior penetration. It would deliver full damage to the first minion, lesser damage to the second, and minor damage to the third, and so on.

PK, have you considered that it's a medical condition of some sort, not the low-brow status of the HxBow, that has you frothing at the mouth?
