Storage Bank Creation (in General)

BootyGod February 16 2006 7:00 PM EST

I lately have been seeing alot of people saying things like "I should stop spending my money" or "I can never seem to save up for supportership".
Well for you people I am creating a bank. Its very simple and gives me NO PROFIT AT ALL. This is just for you people who tend to make impulse buys. Basically when you find yourself with a good bit of money send the money to the Character Storage Bank. Then as you make payments I keep it tallied. At any time you can CM me Email me or PM me how much money you want withdrawed. Then i send you your money back. Then basic point of this is that by the time I log on to send you the moeny (which I log on at least once a day) you have had a chance to realize you dont need it. Once again this is just something I decided to do.
As for personal penalties to me. This would count as scamming if at any time I did not send money sent. The xfer logs could easily prove one way or the other if I did indeed try to scam someone. Once again there is no way for me to get profit from this. I cannot xfer money from this char to any other char.
Lastly if you dont approve of this idea dont flame it. Just do not take part. This is basically a way to store money for people.
Lastly I may decide to run contests off people who use the bank. I dont see many very wealthy players using it in the first place so I figure this could be a good give away for players who DO use. This would be something like at any random time I decide to just give one of the players who used the bank a little bit of cash. Once again if you DO wish to use this bank send the money to char
Storage Bank
also keep all deposits in increments of 1000 or more and keep it even. I dont want to have to keep track of jagged numbers. Thank you all and I hope this helps however decides to use it.

How will you deal with transfer fees?

BootyGod February 16 2006 7:18 PM EST

oh of course how silly of me not to address this. I will deal with the average tranfer fees. But if they start gettign extreme then yes i will like some money to deal with them. What i will do is all xfer fees under 5k I will cover. Over that I will take money from the tranfer and make it down to 5k. Example:
Tranfering 1 mil
xfer fee=10k
will send 995000
and go ahead and send.
These numbers are off the top of my head so dont attack me lol.
Sorry if this causes any inconvenience but I simply cant be paying 10k xfer fees out my pocket. 5k I can handle. Any more and just subtract it from tranfer to get my loss down to 5k.
Once again people this is just me being nice and WILL NOT help me in anyway possible.

QBOddBird February 16 2006 7:21 PM EST

*grins* GW, you definitely need to consider x-fers.

Additionally, a suggestion for those who should stop spending money by a guy who is 2.65 mil in debt and paying it off in payments of 50k per week? You realize that's over a year before it is paid off, correct?

"This would be something like at any random time I decide to just give one of the players who used the bank a little bit of cash."

Just my input, but I'd rather you used that extra cash to pay me off. =P

I don't want this to look like flaming, but for obvious personal financial reasons, I'd like to say that I do disapprove of the idea.

BootyGod February 16 2006 7:25 PM EST

...... thanks for the trust OB. I will send 1 mil right now. Thanks for making me regret the idea. But the idea still stands.

QBOddBird February 16 2006 7:26 PM EST

On a side note, rather than using this and wasting a ton of money on x-fer fees, a good idea is to create a character slot and name it (whatever) Bank. For example, I have a character named Safety Deposit Box...no minions, so it won't be retired, and I can put money there to keep safe. Just seems like a huge waste is all.

BootyGod February 16 2006 7:29 PM EST

The whole point of this is that people can access those as easily as their main character. How does this help them save money? The POINT of the bank is that this will slow them down on instant decisions. It gives them a chance to think about it.

QBPixel Sage February 16 2006 7:42 PM EST

Sorry WolfCorpse, I'm siding with OB on this. What if it comes to a time when someone who's stored money in your bank needs it quickly on say, an auction that ends in less than an hour, and you're not around to send money to them? It may help them save money by losing the auction, but maybe they were saving for something they found in the auctions when you weren't around.

Transfer fees... It'd make more sense to use OB's suggestion and create a bank character, since constantly transferring money to your account will REALLY cut into their "savings". Plus, being in debt and saying you will cover part of the transfer fees isn't exactly attractive.

Similarly, I'm not just trying to be rude or flame, but if you want to help others save, try getting yourself out of debt first to prove you know how to help people save. Good luck!

Sir Leon [Soup Ream] February 16 2006 7:44 PM EST

What about auctions, stuff like that ends at a given time. It could be less than a day and you DONT log in? What would people that invested in this very poor idea do then?

This idea isnt the greatest, the last idea you had was ok. I think you should stop worrying about the community and face the fact that no matter how much you suck up. You will never be an op.

Maybe you should have something that prevents you from posting spontaneous ideas? Let you stop and think about it first...

Sry to be rude. But you set yourself up to be flamed.

BootyGod February 16 2006 7:45 PM EST

Get my debt out of this. By this time tomorrow I will be out of debt. I have a corn i got to wait for it to get outbidded on in auctions. When it does I will send the money to him. By the way I dont appreciate OB hi-jacking my thread for his own purposes. Which i believe is against forum rules.

QBOddBird February 16 2006 7:46 PM EST

Oh good lord, I didn't hijack the thread, I pointed something out. Calm down and don't get your undergarments in a wad, G-Wolf. It's a sensible suggestion.

BootyGod February 16 2006 7:48 PM EST

You know maybe your right. I mean its people like you who make up the community so why should I care? You all talk about how nice you all are and of course none of you are. So find yeah idea is scrapped. I mean how stupid could I be to not see that people would actually like my idea. By the way Sir leon i trust that your personal feelings toward me did not affect your liking of the idea. I mean you would never be that arrogant would you?

QBOddBird February 16 2006 7:52 PM EST

Behold my apologies, Godwolf, for I am not nearly so nice and unselfish as you. I would never do anything good for goodness' sake, and I do not deserve any responsibilities or honors that have been given me, for I am a lowly, selfish, greedy man. Please, please, whatever it takes, forgive me! I am not worthy.....perhaps if I could learn to be a more forgving, wonderful person like you, I'd learn to do things like what you have done, and come up with spectacular ideas that are beyond reproach!

Again, I am humbled by your generosity, and am thoroughly chastised.

{CB1}Lukeyman February 16 2006 7:52 PM EST

"I think you should stop worrying about the community and face the fact that no matter how much you suck up. You will never be an op. "

Ok Leon, that is very rude and mean, you know, some of us enjoy helping other people, and aren't just worried about ourselves.

BootyGod February 16 2006 7:54 PM EST

Sorry guys I give up. Bye. I wont get in your all ways anymore. :)

Kefeck [Demonic Serenity] February 16 2006 7:59 PM EST

I agree with lukey that was a pretty rude and mean thing to do regardless if he deserved it or not. He was just try to help

Kefeck [Demonic Serenity] February 16 2006 7:59 PM EST

I see that I spelled (trying) wrong

Sir Leon [Soup Ream] February 16 2006 8:02 PM EST

Sure it was rude. I understood that it was. I even adressed that it was rude as i recall.

However IMO and many others, that is all GW is after. So sure it is rude, but someone had to tell him. I just did it in a rude manner.

He wont be op, the day he becomes op is the day i quit!

A Lesser AR of 15 [Red Permanent Assurance] February 16 2006 8:05 PM EST

the hard feelings between leon and GW is long since old now would the kids stop calling the guy rude after admitting it ;)

BMWheatley February 16 2006 8:06 PM EST

now look what youve done. You could have just kept your thoughts to yourselves or gave him a CM... : /

Kefeck [Demonic Serenity] February 16 2006 8:10 PM EST

seriously use chat mail it just makes you look like a je-rk if you do not.

Sir Leon [Soup Ream] February 16 2006 8:14 PM EST

Sure i look like a jerk, Its no big deal. Draw your own opinions.

Can we please just get back on subject about the storage bank. Do you guys think this is a Great idea?

Kefeck [Demonic Serenity] February 16 2006 8:16 PM EST

I thought it was a decent idea I do have a spending problem.

QBPixel Sage February 16 2006 11:07 PM EST

Come on WolfCorpse. OB has the right to saying what he said. You said you'd have the money once you were outbid... if you had enough to pay back in the first place, why did you place priority on an auction that you want to be outbid on anyways? He may disapprove of your idea because you owe him money, but I along with others disapprove of the idea because it looks half-baked, especially since you can't be online all the time when people need money and that transfer fees contradicts "savings". Those are COMPLETELY legitimate reasons to disapprove of this idea, as is you being in debt.

Please stop acting like a victim of bad criticism and realize that this bank idea just isn't good. Creating a bank character may have its cons, but the cons of this bank program are much too high compared to just a bank character.

Zoglog[T] [big bucks] February 17 2006 6:04 AM EST

With some actual thought into the idea and time taken over making the post grammatically correct, whilst including correct spellings it could have been good.
You say not to bring your debt into things but I wouldn't exactly go and open an account at a local bank if they were millions in debt.

BootyGod February 17 2006 7:56 AM EST

I find it funny that people continued so long after I made it public I was done with the idea
Sorry guys I give up. Bye. I wont get in your all ways anymore. :)

--WolfCorpse (GW), February 16 2006 7:54 PM EST

Did no one read the post? Well it doesn't matter Im saying it again the idea is done.

Kefeck [Demonic Serenity] February 17 2006 8:08 PM EST

Yeah but pixel the whole point of the saving bank is so that you can save not spend it in the auctions right away.

QBOddBird February 17 2006 8:24 PM EST

This thread should be dead already, but I'll answer his point there, kefeck - what if you see a Corn with 15 minutes left, no previous bidders on, and it's going for 500k? You ought to pounce on a deal like that, if for no better reason than to re-sell it....but wait, you have no money! You're saving it all on someone else's character, and during their timezone, this is naptime.

Bad luck for you, eh?

Kefeck [Demonic Serenity] February 17 2006 8:25 PM EST

Yeah bad luck, the whole point is to save money not spend it. Regardless how good the deal.

QBOddBird February 17 2006 8:31 PM EST

Good business ethics says in a deal like that, where you're going to double your money, you buy. You'll make money, not lose it.

Money's no good if you never do anything with it, it's just a couple of useless numbers.

Kefeck [Demonic Serenity] February 17 2006 8:33 PM EST

Yeah thats the risk you take. But just think of all the cash you will have when you finally decide to take it out.

Gilgamesh2090 [NCB Shop] February 17 2006 8:33 PM EST

hmm...GW has had an idea and shared it with the community and people have shown dissatisfaction for his idea by giving their opinions why they disagree with his idea, which should be enough. But there has been additional comments made that are not constructive criticism but instead, criticism and even insults. GW has only shared an idea he thought up. For this he has attempted to contribute to the community of CB only and has done no harm to it. Why should he get flamed so badly?

Kefeck [Demonic Serenity] February 17 2006 8:34 PM EST

Thats what I've been trying to say the whole time gilgamesh
