Bad memory... (in Off-topic)

Maelstrom February 22 2006 9:49 PM EST

A little while ago, I thought of the perfect argument to make in one of these forums threads. In the process of trying to remember the argument while trying to find the right thread, I forgot what thread I was looking for. The shock of forgetting what thread I was looking for caused me to forget the argument I was going to make.

I can't remember whether I had a purpose for making this thread or not...

I always forget things too I never write anything down so I always forget what I need to do. But when it comes to like facts for a test when I was in high School I never had to study and never forgot most the stuff. odd.

That's the same with me Cmd, im in grade 10, and so far, haven't opened a single book for tests and exams, i got a 90 in English too haha

QBBast [Hidden Agenda] February 24 2006 7:52 AM EST

That doesn't say much for the standards to which you are being held, Lukey.

Caedmon [Revenge of the Forgers] February 24 2006 8:27 AM EST

Where I went to H.S., Lukey, a 90's only a B. Not a grade to crow about too much.

CmdrHawkeye February 24 2006 9:16 AM EST

Nice to know im not the only one who can do that. People most times hate you because you don't have to struggle through school. I still remember my 10th grade year wow that was well....at least 5 years ago. It sucked.

{CB1}Lukeyman February 24 2006 2:05 PM EST

Caed, 90% is like honors here i think.. or that may be 95 not sure.. or 85 in some courses, and Bast... bah

QBBast [Hidden Agenda] February 24 2006 2:22 PM EST

Your argument is sheep noises? I rest my case. :P

I could brag in exactly the same way as you Lukey, but in college you need to study. It's hard to get A's from just retaining what the professor says. That is because most professors are eccentric and often just blathering absolute nonsense that doesn't pertain to what is on the tests. All the memory in the world isn't going to do you a bit of good if you never even hear or read about what it is you need to know in the first place.

{CB1}Lukeyman February 24 2006 3:34 PM EST

haha Bast, nice.

And I try to study and such, but i just get distracted, thats part of the reason i left CB before, and I can't copy notes because i cant see the board that well, i have glasses, but i don't like wearing them, haha, getting contacts soon though i hope. But yeah, I know i need to study, but i just can't, i'm trying though, im trying

I beg to differ about studying in college I could do better if I study but I passed all my last semester classes (all grades were above average I must add) without studying so you really don't have to study in college it just helps.

QBBast [Hidden Agenda] February 27 2006 9:29 AM EST

As with Lukey's middling education, that might depend on the school.

CmdrHawkeye February 27 2006 9:45 AM EST

true, true but it could also be the instructor you have as well. But also as I said i could have done better if I did study and the major I focus on really doesn't require written tests it is more projects as assignments. that may also account to my experiences. So in general I would say to each his/her own. Do what works for you and you can't go wrong.
