Server Error? (in General)

{CB1}[umk]Fangs February 28 2006 7:38 PM EST

I'm getting this when I press fight:

Server Error
The requested URL cannot be accessed due to a system error on this server.

refresh LHS frame?

Karmic Mishap [Soup Ream] February 28 2006 8:39 PM EST

I get this too. It happened when I ran out of BA. Oh, poor out-of-BA page, do you even exist anymore?

Xiaz on Hiatus February 28 2006 8:46 PM EST

Okay, looks like I am experiencing this too. :)

I got a server error too when I tried fighting without ba then bought some and then tried fighting and now I got a 10 minute suspension because of the server error. Grrr!!!

Maelstrom February 28 2006 8:54 PM EST

Serves you right for trying to find bugs in Jon's code! ;)

Could it be that Jon is working on changes a few hours early?

Hakai [Aye Phelta Thi] February 28 2006 8:57 PM EST

hehe, i got suspended for "fighting too fast" after the Server error page; oh well Cste la Vie

Maelstrom February 28 2006 9:05 PM EST

Repeat after me: C'est la vie...

Hakai [Aye Phelta Thi] February 28 2006 9:09 PM EST

AOLserver/4.0.9b on http://www.carnageblender.com how do you get this when you dont use AOL? anyway i got this as well, when i had ran out of ba.

Blarg February 28 2006 9:28 PM EST

I get a server error when i'm out of BA as well

Maelstrom February 28 2006 9:33 PM EST

You get it only when you're out of BA, or even after you've regained BA?

If the error stays, then I won't finish off my BA ;)

From FAQs >> Behind the scenes

"The game code is written in TCL (with user management and other functions from the OpenACS toolkit), and runs under the AOLServer web server, which despite the name is quite a good piece of software. The data is stored in a PostgreSQL database."

Sir Leon [Soup Ream] February 28 2006 9:36 PM EST

Alright i got half of that, but enough for me to understand.

Thanks

[T]Vestax February 28 2006 9:40 PM EST

If CB were a high school's cafeteria then:

TCL would be the cook,
The OpenACS toolkit would be his utensils,
PostgreSQL would be the food trays,
The games data and web pages would be the food,
and AOLServer would be the lunch lady that serves your food. (Ugly but effective.)

Sir Leon [Soup Ream] February 28 2006 9:43 PM EST
