lol - ok... I was looking at http://www.platypus.asn.au/ which has slightly conflicting facts about the fur, but that's ok

- and, fyi, (not conflicting with what was stated, just elaborating for fun - ) according to http://www.redlist.org/ , they aren't an endangered species (although the platypus frog is *grin*). The WWF (world wildlife fund) website indicates that although their numbers are not threatened at this time, their environment IS threatened, so they are watched as if they were endangered. Pretty sad that we treat our environment so cavalierly. I hope they survive... :)
