The Artful Dodger just lost a fight in 10 rounds. The opposing characters minion(s) never touched him in any way, but the Guardian Angel did him in - essentially, Dodger "beat the hoo-ha" out of himself... I should have saved the play-by-play, because it was so lopsided, it was funny...
Is Dispel Magic the only defense? Maybe VA?
TIA! :)
And in a rather interesting development, "hoo-ha" actually makes it past the spellchecker...

As far as I can see, the only way to defend yourself from GA is to eithre dispel it or use Armor and ToE.

i hate GA..... ;)
I had VA on Dodger and sometimes it would let you outpace the other guy's GA - but UC's fairly low damage doesn't really help if the GA is huge.
AS, HP, AC, ToE, DM, Protection all help lessen the effect of a good GA. VA combined with either the MH or BoTH can allow you to break even on GA damage or gain just a little. Your best bet is a nice big Ol' DM or ToE.

If the case is that you died only from GA then your opponent has at least 250% more HP then you do. Raising your HP so that this percentile difference is much lower is one solution. This is achieved by either straight HP, AS, or with VA. VA is the most volatile way of getting HP as you get way more HP in longer fights and none against a decent DM or if the fight takes 3 rounds or less. Yet, VA can also give you the most HP per xp when the conditions are right.
The other solutions are to cut the damage on it's way back. GA is affected by Protection, Endurance, and AC. Those are your options.
