is FB worth it? (in General)

Flamey March 6 2006 1:37 AM EST

i have a four minion team, EEMT, my mage is a FB one and its FB level is:Fireball: 76,952 (7,066) HP:11 000, VA:23000.

my tank is a BL one: i do basically 20k damage.

my FB only hits 7k split up, or close to it. and retaliation damage sucks, and my tank does 20k to one minion even still my tank is better.

so is it worth it to have a FB mage?

i know that Tanks cost money, but still i would better rewards with 2 tanks.

someone fill me in, on why FB is good?

my MPR is 157,453.

try not to be to harsh on me.

Thanks

For that team, it would be best to have a CoC or MM (i prefer CoC) so that you don't attack your own minions. even though its only 7k, multiplied by the number of rounds it starts to add up. Don't know why i'm telling you this besides that its way too early in the morning, because you're on my favorites list. And as to why FB is good, it is usually used on one minion, or an EM in which the enchanter doesn't care as to if it is dealt any damage. It's pretty much useless when you have another char trying to survive and deal damge.

in a general sense, think about the type of strategy that using BL implies: you need to survive into melee, where your damage is dealt.
now think of what FB implies: your damage is dealt early, and living into melee is bad for every minion except the caster.

those two strategies don't agree with each other.
You seem to be asking why FB is ever good... but the problem is not with that spell, it is with how you are trying to use it. tools need to used correctly.

it is not a good idea to be on the same team as a suicide bomber.

I agree completely with Maulaxe. The only little thing I would add is for your size, having that much VA on the mage seems to be a detriment. Most teams have, and need, AMF to survive. And since you have VA to where it's 25% of your DD spell, that means your DD spell is 25% smaller than it could be. And that means those enemy AMFs will be all that more effective against you as well.

So basically, I agree you should probably switch him from FB to CoC. And then pump that up for quite a while and just focus on getting it big enough to overcome the typical AMF you run into. Good luck with whatever you decide.

ok thanks guys, i will be changing to CoC.

If you switch to CoC, put that tank in front of your mage, otherwise your mage isn't going to last long enough to help you out a whole lot.
