Whats Wrong with Horsemeat? (in Off-topic)

Can some one tell me why Bartjan has a problem with horsemeat? He Seems to be touchy about this issue..I am just curious..People all over the world eat all kinds of things that some of us wouldn't touch..Cats ands dogs have come up before as to the fact we dont talk about those poeple who eat them for dinner. So is horsemeat a new edition to the dont talk about items? This is a new one if so . J ...Texas Exports 500 tons of Horsemeat annually for human consumption..Whats the problem? Texas should just stop feeding 3rd world countries .

Noo!! Poor horses!!!

Horsemeat is very tasty I believe the French eat a lot of it - the bad feeling about horsemeat all stems from the 1st world war where old horses were being eaten (they were killed first). If any of you has eaten Mutton you will know that generally meat from an old member of a species is tougher than young meat.

There is nothing different about eating Horse (especially the d'oevres) than eating 'bambi' steaks.

If I was a horse I would rather know that I would be eaten and enjoyed with a nice bottle of Chianti than boiled down for Glue (I think) .

If I were a horse, I'd rather be a 900k Stallion than a 150k Filly with one day's NUB left

There's nothing wrong with it per se, however many people consider the horse a noble animal. That is, one capable of assisting man and being his companion, much like a dog.

A horse burger just doesn't sound appetizing...

sssimmo March 12 2006 9:24 PM EST

Horses for courses. I'd prefer it as a first rather than a main :P

BootyGod March 13 2006 7:23 PM EST

You know.... I think... yes indeed I am... I am hungry enough to eat a horse.

sssimmo March 14 2006 8:32 AM EST

QBBast [Hidden Agenda] March 14 2006 8:35 AM EST

Was that a rhetorical question, Simmo? ;)

Stephen March 14 2006 5:19 PM EST

And trying to correct your spelling after Bast has turned up is like locking the stable door after the horse has bolted.

A horse destined to be eaten in a third world country walks into a bar to order his last drink.
The bartender looks at him and says, "Hey buddy, why the long face?"

Oops, wrong thread :P

Stephen March 14 2006 5:47 PM EST

Is that a suggestion that France is a third world country? ;)

Zoglog[T] [big bucks] March 15 2006 6:58 AM EST

UltimaSpock [Forge Frog Services] March 15 2006 8:38 AM EST
