Wondering why I didn't get credit. (in General)

Hello I put this link to a friend. http://cb2.carnageblender.com?specialoffer=17984 and they clicked that link. Their name is Argentuil. When they started the tutorial they said that a message told them they got to start with 500$ instead of 100$ because they clicked a referal link. I didn't get credit for this referral. I have asked them a couple times to make sure they clicked what I sent and I made sure that the link above is what I sent them. I'm just wondering why this happened and if either I did something wrong or what. Thanks for any help.

You don't get the referral if they're on the same IP as you - is that the case?

no they are in a different state. Just a friend I know from the internet.

If he did use that link, then it would show up on his admin page. It doesn't.

thanks bart for looking into it. they are wondering why when they went to sign up. it said they clicked a special offer? that's the only reason i'm confused. but either way. I'm just happy that they are playing.
