Op's need to get on the same page. (in General)

Doc [girl power] March 27 2006 8:02 PM EST

We need some guidelines for the New players chat room.

We can allow general chat to make the room appealing and comfortable to the newbs that join.

Once a question gets asked...stop the general chat and answer...if you continue your general chat you get removed.
You will not be asked to stop your general chat as this is the warning here. If we ask you to stop it would be spamming the room....what we are trying to stop.

Welcome the new members and encourage them to ask questions...let them know they belong.

Those that idle in the room and only chat...is not why you are in there... you are in the room to help. Do so or be removed.

I encourage ops to add their opinions.

Once we have something definate, we can then add them to the Help Pages.

Agreed. If a question is left unanswered and someone is still speaking, they will be kicked, because they are obviously at the keyboard but unwilling to address the question.

I think it is a good idea to have all the ops on the same page as well.

although i am not an op i would like to express my VERY brief opinion.

If you do that and let people chat until a question is asked then what was the Freaking point in changing the Vets to Carnage to begin with? I mean we did that before and all you had to do was maybe tell us that we need to do it a little better. Most of use wouldnt have argued and done so.

I agree with Doc on this one.

Adminedyit [Superheros] March 27 2006 8:06 PM EST

Ahhh it's good to be home, :-)

In response to Leon.

There were many members in NP that did not help and caused more problems.

We are now trying to avoid that problem.

Sorry for the double post.

Sir_Leon, the migration was to move the idle chatters out of NP into a room where they could chat. There are those that have migrated back to NP because they want to help those coming into CB for the first time. Those that remained in Carnage should have been there all along, as helping new players wasn't a priority.

As far as I am concerned, the migration should be done automatically every few months or so to weed out the chatters, and give NP a clean slate.

This does not mean that those of us that are in NP now do not also want to chat. You can't honestly expect us to sit there on the edge of our seats waiting for someone to ask a question. I have been in NP all day and whenever a question has been asked, the idle chatter stopped and the question was dealt with. It also usually led to rether lengthy discussions about strategies/spells/whatever that *were* related to CB.

Sir Leon [Soup Ream] March 27 2006 8:15 PM EST

I suspect that allot of them will be back.

I don’t want to argue but. I think the room should be primarily for New Players. There should only be discussion of helping with strats commenting about the game ect. All being related to CarnageBlender. Carnage should be a place where everything else should be discussed.

If you're saying that they can talk that is going to leave a wide open door for people to take advantage of. Then it will lead you the op to determine whets right and wrong. IMO this leaves to much lee way between ops and could result in a similar thread the admins see right now.

I don’t think these rules will be benefiting New Players much.

Mem March 27 2006 8:21 PM EST

Personally, I couldn't care less what the rules are, just get it straight! That's all I ask.

Agreed, chat is not bad; its when people dont bother to stop chatting long enough to answer a question which can be answered in half a sentence that there is a problem.

Rizz March 28 2006 12:04 AM EST

i do not understand, you force us to carnage and now you want us back? the only reason i see this caused, is because the ops in np get bored. it's pointless, just have one big room and voila.

Doc [girl power] March 28 2006 12:25 AM EST

Rizz REread the first post.
