I noticed something that struck me as a little strange, so I figured I would see what you guys thought. I occassionally check my few rentals I have, and found something that seemed weird.
A Helm of Durin [9] (+10) $103,059 $3,000 3 days 3 / 2 days 02:47:12 rented by auctioneer; back in 22:30:25
It's the same with my MS as well. And yes, I did check. They have been rented by the official auctioneer, the guy with no characters. Anyone have any guesses why this is? Perhaps Jon is playing with things? I just hope the auctioneer doesn't sell my stuff off before it comes back.

Most likely those items were rented by someone who's banned or reset.

Yes, if someone gets reset then rentals they had get assigned to the auctioneer for the rest of the rental period. (Internally, this is simpler than expiring the rental immediately.)
Okay, that makes sense. Sorry about the stupid question then.
Although that is the only way you ever learn.
