I always thought Smurfette was a girl... though perhaps if what Donnie Darko said is true, smurfs aren't really male or female...

If smurfs are neither gender then I guess its fair to say that because most people are lazy it easier to say "son" rather than "daughter". So this brings us to our next question. Is AoD Gargamel? Or dare I say it.....Azreal???

If I've said it once I've said it a thousand times. Dotson is actually the name of the human antagonist in Jurrasic Park, or rather, the misheard name. Perhaps you recall a scene in the beginning of the movie where Wayne Knight meets a shady looking character in order to receive the dino DNA receptacle (the container of Barbasol) and his instructions? This is the man whom the name honours.

"Dodgson! Dodgson! We've got Dodgson here! See? Nobody cares..."

I'm sick of hearing about dots and sons. It has absolutely nothing to do with that. And you're annoying if you think otherwise.

Ironic that one of the founders of Dotson surname was not even mentioned in the post.

AoD couldn't catch me, my dagger is way better than his stupid scythe. So what smurf guise do I get? Super duper smurf? Psychotic possibly homicidal smurf? I'm good with anything as long as I get to be kooky.

AoD, your role playing wears thin on me. Everyone knows you aren't really the angel of death. Maybe you like to assume that persona when you're playing online games, but it gets real annoying. Besides, everyone knows that while Gargamel may have actually caught some smurfs on occasion, he never harmed a one of them.

Mael, the name Dotson isn't all that special. It just started as a joke between Ox and I. After we were finished reminiscing about that part in Jurassic Park I suggested he change his name to that. He wouldn't do it, so I did it just to spite him. He followed suit a week or two later. Months later Ox and I were in chat just after he had tried to change his name. As we were discussing what Ox should try to change his name to (again, since he was sucessfully named 'X' for a short while), someone (sorry, I can't remember who) asked if they could change their name to Dotson and it just caught on.

That's what I'm wondering about. I can't remember that part at all, nor can I remember the character Dodgson. Did he have an important part, or what?

He was the owner of the main competition to John Hammond's company. He paid the fat programmer to steal the dino DNA. If you get a chance to watch the movie again pay attention to the beginning when Wayne Knight is in some tropical setting at a restaurant on a patio eating and drinking. Some guy comes up to him to make a deal with him. He's wearing sunglasses and has a very forgettable face. Newman screams out "Dodgson! Dodgson! We've got Dodgson here!" after Lewis Dodgson says to keep it down. "See? Nobody cares..."

"Don't get cheap on me Dodgson."

Maybe Dotsons will become like Ramones - Tommy Ramone quits, and Marky Ramone takes his place, only to be replaced by Richie Ramone for a time, while CJ Ramone covers for Dee Dee Ramone - like an endless supply of Ramones / Dotsons!

Dr. Ian Malcolm was a world-renowned mathmetician and expert in Chaos Theory. He was hired as part of the team sent to the park to prove that it was too dangerous and needed to be shut down.
Specifically, he tried to prove way ahead of time, using Chaos Theory, that the entire idea of genetically re-introducing dinosaurs would end in disaster, and was very smug throughout the novel/movie whenever a new disastrous situation proved him right.
He was my favorite character...
