78 Days Later... (in General)

QBsutekh137 May 21 2006 1:30 PM EDT

Hey all,

I just wanted to post some informational stuff -- all my stats/etc while my MPR is exactly at 1,000,000.

This is on day 78 of my NCB, at a bonus of 149%.

Here are my stats (with cost per point in the () and unlearn amounts):

HP: 700,000 (14) -- unlearn for 7,734,864
ST: 20
DX: 20
Fireball: 2,047,048 (15) -- unlearn for 26,498,701
AMF: 500,000 (14) -- unlearn for 5,984,848
GA: 100,014 (12) -- unlearn for 1,049,954

Hiring a new minion (large option) would cost $15,105,879. That would mean I would get 5,035,293 experience points to train, probably yielding around 400K-450K level on any given stat.

My BA cost is currently $1009 per BA.

I have spent about 14-15 million so far on buying BA every day. I am not really fighting all that hard (no night-runs or anything), but still probably average around 18-20 hours of BA usage a day (meaning I am at zero BA when I go to bed and that I burn down BA as soon as I rise). I buy BA during high XP time every time I can, and I try to fight as little during high money times as possible (I tend to use those periods to fight up and build a better fight list).

I have used an named RoE (thanks GentlemanLoser!) the whole time, and plan on using one for my full NCB. The way I see it, I still have plenty of targets to choose from (and no pesky clan-mates to worry about). So, all I am missing is growth of a tattoo, but I already have a man on that (thanks colonel!).

Also, thanks to novice and Borderliner for some CM help and good discussions.

And, as always, thanks to all my targets on the way up. It was a pleasure frying your minions into fine ash. *smile*

Hopefully this information is good for any number-cruncher-predicter type folks out there. When I reach 1,500,000 MPR (won't be during my NCB), I will post similar content then.

QBsutekh137 May 21 2006 1:37 PM EDT

Another metric I forgot to add is my MPR/battles-challenged ratio. I like using that to determine battle effectiveness and to compare to other characters above and below...

MPR: 1,001,055 (sorry, I trained a bit before remembering to take the ratio *smile*)
Battles Challenged: 109,958 (an average of about 1,400 per day)
RATIO = 9.104

There are some newer folks that have that ratio north of 10, and 9 seems pretty decent in the higher ranks. Of course, the ratio starts dropping like a rock once the NUB/NCB is up...

Good show Sut!
Thanks for the details about BA cost and the formula for measuring effectiveness of your fightlist...I'm seriously considering forgoing all BA purchasing for the rest of my NCB and using the cash made for keeping my Morg near WA, and that big nasty number you posted makes me all the more convinced.

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] May 21 2006 2:02 PM EDT

in an aside that is sure to continue elsewhere I will mention I think you may be mistake regarding clans, I seem to see better rewards fighting lower score clan members than 2-300k higher score non clan members...

QBsutekh137 May 21 2006 2:24 PM EDT

Better rewards because of clan bonus or something else?

I will be first to admit I have been an idiot to not make my GDI clan right off... Borderliner mentioned that as a singleton he can still maintain 4-9% bonus most days... That is pretty nice.

But I see no reason that clan vs non-clan opponent would make a difference on base rewards... If that is the case, then it should be made public. I have seen some clan folks fighting extremely low (such as score below PR), so even with a 10% clan bonus, those rewards should in no way compare to beating someone at 1.5 times or twice one's PR (even if not clan).

Obviously, the optimum MPR building strategy is to fight high-score clan folks while being in a top clan and wearing an RoE. If one can do that for the duration of their NCB, then that is wonderful!

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] May 21 2006 2:55 PM EDT

optimum MPR building is in my opinion still better done with max WA and a max Tat (likely a ToE, RoS, or maybe ToA). There has always been a publicly stated bonus for fighting clan members when you are in a clan, I just never knew how good it was until now.

QBsutekh137 May 21 2006 2:58 PM EDT

I'd really like some confirmation on that... I know there was said to be a tiny advantage just for being in a clan, but I always thought it was negligible...

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] May 21 2006 3:06 PM EDT

I can find the section of the cb1 FAQ in googles cache yet, but I'm still looking. Essentially there is an additional unmentioned bonus for attacking a clan member (I think only when you are in a clan) obviously if Jon doesn't feel like just telling us the only way we're going to get an confirmation is doing some math ourselves.

LayWaste-[bA May 21 2006 3:13 PM EDT

Yeah you're right Novice. I've read that since playing CB2 though. There's an extra bonus for fighting 'clan-characters' if you're in a clan, this bonus is separate from your clan bonus.

LayWaste-[bA May 21 2006 3:14 PM EDT

Off of the join a clan page, I guess I posted too soon ><..
"All fights vs other Clan Characters earn slightly larger rewards, both of money and experience."

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] May 21 2006 3:35 PM EDT

O_O Wow! :D

1 Mil MPR and still in bonus time...

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] May 21 2006 3:49 PM EDT

thanks man I knew it was somewhere!!

QBsutekh137 May 21 2006 4:06 PM EDT

OK, but I can't believe it would be more than 1-2%. If it is, just another for me to think clans are silly overall. Why would there need to be an additional small bonus for clans? Isn't the whole thrill of clan points and blah blah blah enough motivation for people to clan up? If clans can't stand on their own merits and require a subsidized bonus, then what does that say about the whole concept?

AdminShade May 21 2006 4:10 PM EDT

novice: check cbstuff.nl clans section for all about clans :p

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] May 21 2006 4:26 PM EDT

It seems like it's a little more than that sut, and interestingly enough it's doing it's job perfectly. I get better rewards on average from fighting clan members (at 6-800k) than fighting million score weak forge farms.

QBsutekh137 May 21 2006 7:23 PM EDT

If by "doing its job perfectly" you mean:

"Providing an entirely unnecessary reason to further force people into clanning up..."

then yeah. Yeah, I guess it does. Hooray for lack of choice!

The more clans become something that people just "have" to do, because, "hey, who cares, it's where all the bonuses are", the more my stance is proved legitimate that clans are stupid. Non-stupid things don't need to be subsidized.

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] May 21 2006 7:47 PM EDT

It's always been like this Sut, at least from my day 0.
It still takes fighting much above your pr to equal the rewards offered by fighting really really high.

AdminG Beee May 21 2006 7:55 PM EDT

Of course if_everyone_was in a clan then it would be pretty tough for a "singleton" to maintain 4-9% bonus most days and clan fighting would become more tactical. More choice, not less if you concede that you really must be in one.

QBsutekh137 May 21 2006 8:08 PM EDT

Of course there would be "more choice" if everyone had to be in a clan... That's like creating several new cola drinks and saying, "Hey! there's more choice as long as we force everyone to drink cola!"

Fantastic!

So then either force everyone to drink cola or stop artificially making reasons that people should. One or the other. Make a "choice". *smile*

Vicious Cat May 23 2006 8:00 AM EDT

As someone who has just left a clan (negatively - sorry BM :-( ) I am in agreement with sutekh here. As an NCB fighting around 100k, there was a distinct lack of opposition, so my fightlist fell into two halves - above me were one or two Clan members, below me, all Clans.
As it stands presently, single is the way to go - 5%ish every now and then is not too much of a stretch. This will obviously change - if more people were in (singleton) clans it would be that much harder as G-Beee points out, but then it would not be such an issue getting decently levelled opposition.

QBsutekh137 May 23 2006 10:18 AM EDT

Indeed, viva la singleton! *smile* You are right, a lot of singletons lower the average bonus and cause it to drop out entirely at certain parts of the day/week...

Rubberduck[T] [Hell Blenders] May 23 2006 11:14 AM EDT

Do they? the number of clans receiving a bonus depends on the total number of clans so I'm not sure that more singletons will lower the average bonus.

QBsutekh137 May 23 2006 4:11 PM EDT

True, I guess I meant that the more there are, the easier it is to drop from 25th place to 40th place by losing just a few clan points... All the singletons are closely packed in score, so other than rushes from buying BA, it is easy to wallow and fade down the ranks...
