I asked one of my most intelligent friends this riddle, and even he could not come up with the answer. I know there's some pretty smart people on CB, so now I'm bringing it here. ;-)
The day before yesterday I was 9 years old. Next year I will turn 12.
How is this possible? First one to come up with the correct answer will get $25k Leave your character name with your response, please. Multiple entries allowed. And yes, there is an explanation without breaking any rules of science or logic.
yesterday was your birthday
the day before yesterday you were nine... yesterday you turned 10.. and then this time next year you will be older than 11
character is aunt mandy if i won

According to your answer, this time next year I will only be 11, and turn 12 the year after the next...but you're very close :-P
Assume today is January 1st 2006.
Your 10th birthday was yesterday, which was December 31st 2005.
So the day before yesterday (December 30th) you were still 9 years old, for the last day.
This year, 2006, you will have another birthday on December 31st 2006, when you will be 11 years old.
So on your birthday next year, in 2007, you will be 12.
i need to explain more... leap year... you dont have a birthday on leap year cause your bda is on leap day so you wont have a bday until the FOLLOWING year which will make you 12

today is 29th Feb, your birthday is on 28th of feb. Next year is not leap year so "next year" you turn 12.
