I've noticed things like this happening on more than one occasion:
Left side:
H0TD0G stumbled swinging at Angel of Death
Sausage hacked Angel of Death with Spirit Reaver [3802]
Angel of Death's Guardian Angel smote Sausage (341)
R.I.P. H0TD0G
Right side:
Angel of Death's Magic missile hit Sausage [944]
H0TD0G absorbs damage [646]
Grim Reaper's Magic missile hit Sausage [883]
H0TD0G absorbs damage [6]
H0TD0G doesn't seem to be taking any damage, yet he dies?

"Absorb" means "take". PL isn't entirely free. *smile*
Hot Dog is absorbing by spending his own HP, so he dies.
