SUMMARY



The human resource generalist is an integral part of the corporate administrative services team and as such is responsible for ensuring that all human resource services are delivered according to the state and federal law and company policy. Keeping in mind the mission of the organization, it is the responsibility of the human resource generalist to manage efficiently the resources of the company at his/her disposal to support the management team and employees through accurate and timely performance of duties.


RELATIONSHIPS



· Reports directly to the Vice President of Human Resources

· Works closely with the HR Directors and Managers of the various facilities

· Liaisons with the management team for greater interoffice efficiencies

· Works with all supervisors and coordinators to ensure compliance


POSITION CONDITIONS



· Regular work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday, may work beyond normal working hours, on weekends and holidays and on other shifts when necessary

· Moves intermittently during working hours.

· Is subject to frequent interruptions.

· Is involved with personnel, government agencies/personnel, etc., under all conditions/circumstances.

· Is subject to hostile and emotionally upset personnel, visitors, etc.

· Is subject to callback during emergency conditions (e.g., severe weather, evacuation, post-disaster, etc.).

· Attends and participates in continuing educational programs.

· Is subject to injury from falls, burns from equipment, odors, etc., throughout the workday, as well as reactions from dust, disinfectants, tobacco smoke, and other air contaminants.

· Is subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc., including TB and the AIDS and Hepatitis B viruses.

· Communicates with the medical staff, nursing personnel, and other department directors.

· Is subject to long hours of computer interaction for data entry and retrieval

· Will be required to travel to and from company facilities within the Dallas/Fort Worth area and Oklahoma City on an irregular basis



EDUCATION

· Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma or its equivalent. College degree preferred, but not required.

· Industry certifications, such as SPHR, GPHR, etc are preferred, but not required.





EXPERIENCE

· Must have, as a minimum, four (4) years experience in human resources as a generalist



SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

· Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

· Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.

· Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with employees, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.

· Must possess the ability to work harmoniously with other personnel.

· Must possess the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures, etc., that are necessary for providing sound human resource services.

· Must be able to understand and carry out written and oral instructions.

· Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as must be willing to handle staff, and visitors, based on whatever maturity level they are currently functioning.

· Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing practices.

· Must have working knowledge of computers, data entry/retrieval, output, etc.

· Must possess the ability to examine and verify HR, payroll documents and reports.

· Must be able to prepare HR reports and other records in a systematic, neat, and legible manner.

· Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.



PHYSICAL & SENSORY REQUIREMENTS

(With or Without the Aid of Mechanical Devices)

· Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.

· Must be able to speak and write the English language in an understandable manner.

· Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.

· Must possess sight/hearing senses, or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of the position can be fully met.

· Must function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with personnel and support agencies.

· Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of this company, which includes maintaining a “Drug Free” workplace.

· Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet.

· May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of personnel during emergency situations.
