Tatto advice (in General)

I am mulling a switch from a RoS to a ToE.

I would like opinions of which would be more valuable in my case before I spend the 400k only to decide I was better off before and spending 400k to switch it back.

Consider that I would prefer to keep the tattoo on my enchanter to allow for an additional 200k to my MM from my CoI bonus.

Would the damage reduction from a ToE be enough to offset the AS boost?
Would the AMF defense outweigh the DM defense?

My simple mind cannot seem to decide.

As high as your char is choices like this require a knowledge of your fightlist more than anything else, I'd suggest finding someone in chat to banter back and forth with about it...

I have a tank-based team (ETE), and I went through (in order) ToA, ToE and RoS. I have to say, the RoS wins easily. (Though my comparison was done before the recent nerfing.)

The combination of AS/RoS/Corn is hard to match with ToE, in my experience. I'd be interested to see what others think. Maybe it's a different story with mage-based teams?

Negator:
The difference being a tank has no issue with AMF where as a mages critical defense is AMF to which ToE is one of the only responses.

Novice:
I hesitate to do that in chat because it might be near spam to ask so many questions that others might rather not care to read.

Surprisingly in my fightlist only 2 use exclusively DM and 2 more use a combination of each. Above me there are slightly more using AMF exclusively rather than DM.

The other balance I am not sure of is if I do switch to ToE.
Would the AMF defense of the ToE on my mage be better than the boost from my CoI with reduced 'aura' defense.

yes the reduction from a large ToE should be more than the CoI would give you, however you don't even actually need to wear to ToE on the mage to get the benefit (I could be wrong)

I've always been a firm fan of the ToE. For myself I've found the reduced damage - which sort of does and sort of doesn't translate as extra HP - was much more effective than boosted AS.

For me it doesn't matter how much HP my char has if I'm being hit by somebody with a morg that does more damage per blow than the HP level. Reducing that damage is the key.
