Travesty.

Dive, dive wherever we may be. We fall down and feign injury....

Come on football, isn't it about time for video evidence... >_<

i must agree, the ref was lost had no idea what happened, but they school get an oscar or an academy away nice actors.

also one guy from italy happened to chopped by an aussie in the leg but he could take the free kick fine.

The ref was stading maybe a couple of yards away from that 'Penalty' and still gave it...

Decisions like that change the fate of matches. The 'Swings and Roundabouts' excuse doesn't cut it in important matches. Oh well, that's football, don't worry australia, in the next world cup, maybe you'll get a penalty you shouldn't have, to even things out! That's football!

Get some consistency...

To be honest Australia were lucky to get as far as the 94th minute and still be in the game. Italy played for a long time with only 10 men and Australia should have punished them and put them out of the tournament long before the penalty was conceded.

Australia didn't capitalise on the fact that Italy were down to 10 men and everyone seems to be talking about the "dodgy" penalty at the end. What about the fact that the sending off should_never_have happened? If Italy had played for the full 90 mins with 11 men against 11 then I'm sure Australia would have ended up defeated before the 94th minute.

In saying that, it must be tough to be an Aussie at the moment - the place is full of Italians after all :)

/me crosses fingers for this coming weekend and pulls on his Portuguese football top.

4 of my Dad's sisters emigrated to Oz in the 70s, so all my cousins - about twenty of them - consider themselves to be Aussies.

And boy am I glad about this particular score. I really don't need a bunch of smug Aussies phoning me/emailing me/texting me as they prove their worth in yet another sport.......... :P

everyone knows now italians dive at the faintest of touches..sigh...they give football a bad name.

I like a chance the itallians had a little earlier to the penalty. There were about 5 aussie players around an itallain in the aussie box, and none of them would tackle him.

The commentators commented (lol!) that it was because they were worried the itallian would fall to ground if they did try to tackle him...

It's a sad state...
