To keep AC on track with the new style of physical damage and weapon X upgrades, why don't we change AC from a percentage based reduction to a fixed amount per point, and make AC upgradable at a fixed cost like weapons?

While we're at it lets give AS a boost as well. Give people at least a fighting chance of surviving more than one strike. When the biggest weapons are hitting for approx 10 mill per round there is no way of surviving that, even if you reduce damage by 50%.
I considered this but I don't think it would necessarily improve things at this point. It would just be different.
(Whereas making weapon damage linear fixed more than one real problem.)
at least with a fixed percentage we have some chance, on direct points of damage per plus basis we defensive minded folks would end up having to spend vast $US amounts to combat the vast amount of $US that were spent on weapons...oh no...you're not serious are you?
Nov, it would be easier for your guys. Instead of being stuck at 80% reduction and taking 2 mil damage from a 10 mil hit, you could spend 1K (or however much :P) per 'plus' and end up with a direct redction (maybe capped like the ToE somehow) to counter it. :)
