Wich is better? Runes vs familiars (in General)

I haven't had any experience with tattoos since Im fairly new to CB. I bought me a Rune of Balrog flame recently wich works pretty well against melee teams but its not very effective against mage teams so I went to the tattoo artist and found that I can change it to a Fire Familiar. I have battled alot of teams wich had familliars and found most of them pretty tough but I'm not sure which would be better, the rune or the familiar? Alot of you probably have your own opinions about this that I'd like to hear. Hopefully this will help alot of other players aswell in deciding on strategies and what to use or not to use.

The way your team is currently set up I would recommend the Endurance or Steel tattoos, with two Fireballs, I would probably lean to Endurance. Stick it on your minion with Fireball in the 3rd position, see how it does for you :)

:) Seconded. Although I do love a RoS on a four minion team. :)

Have you considered changing your second FB to CoC? Your second FB might last too far into melee and damage your own team with it's friendly fire aspect.

I'll give it a run, thanks. I noted that my minions don't take damage from fireball attacks that much anymore since I've got the rune. Maybe it's not that bad against mage teams as I thought.

The RBF provides damage reduction from FB only. If you change your rune tosomething else, your own FBs will start to hurt your minions in melee. :)

Will it be wise to change my 2nd FB to CoC now? With the rune my minions aren't taking damage.

If you change your rune from a RBF I'd advise it. :)

I'd like to chime in to add a small explanation: While you'll find the items are named tattoos, familiars, or runes, they're all classified under one item category that we simply refer to as "tattoos". So if someone asked what tattoo they should use, it could include any of the runes, familiars, or tattoos.
