Wiki / Auctions: Add Link (in General)
The Wiki has the following page: http://www.carnageblender.com/wiki/List+of+Expired+Auctions
This page should be linked to on the Auctions page so that it becomes increasingly useful (and gains exposure).

Tattoos are messed up though.. I've encountered that problem with the search page before too however, and I'm sure many others have too
Works for me. Define "messed up". I know that sometimes reinking causes display issues, since it will display the old item with the new name. So, for instance, if you sell a FF for $100, then change it to a SF, history for FF will show that you sold a SF for $100. It's a relatively minor thing, though.

Oh thats why. I wonder why it does that, cause if you increase a weapon's stats it doesn't change the auction records...

Please, don't use absolute links like that in the Wiki...

Bart, people have been talking about how they wanted (and needed) the past auctions link in the wiki.
Bart, first off, Vestax created the page a long time ago. I just alphabetized it. Second, the way he did the links was to leave the domain off (carnageblender.com, not cb2.carnageblender.com or www.carnageblender.com).
how hard is it not to use absolute links people just leave off the hostname! People who are logged in to cb2, or www, or even the ip are going to get errors. Simple leave the domain out of the URL.
Because then the Wiki formatting code doesn't properly reduce the link to a number. I made a post about this a few months ago. If you do a relative link, the entire giant sized link will be displayed between brackets.
A better solution is to just setup domain forwarding properly and phase out the now-useless cb2 domain. There's only one cb, and thus no need for multiple domains.
People log in to one of three names, even without the cb2 hostname.

What about those that access CB by IP?

If thats the reason you see other kinds of tattoos, then why when I look up past auctions of Tattoos of Augmentation do I see this one
A Jigorokano Familiar lvl 159,570 $2,761,734 $1,000,000 $1,600,000 February 1 2006 8:08 AM EST
Maybe I had it backwards. Maybe it shows the old name, but displays it in the new context. I would hope it's not that way, as then the search results (and thus historical pricing metrics) would be wrong.
To bart and novice, If that's the way you feel, then petition Jon to fix relative linking in the Wiki so that it works right.

That would be the long term solution, and indeed that petition already has been sent.
In the meanwhile, why not use the same type of links used elsewhere in the Wiki, that does work?
See the main page for example...
Ah, I see, yo're referring to this: http:/faq
Well, as I said, the page has been there since september. All I did was alphabetize it and add the three amulet links. The 667687687656 other links are there mainly from Vestax. So, if you want it changed.... change it. It's a Wiki, after all. You seem to know how to do it right (something, incidently, you could have mentioned much earlier in this thread: that is, how to do create those malformed relative links that happen to work somewhat decently). So, if you want it fixed, fix it. It'd probably be easiest to copy the text into some text editor and do a find/replace all.

Fixed for relative URLs.

Quietly fixing it won't stop others from doing it again in the future...
Indeed. However, coming out and saying "Here's how you do relative linking. It's different than normal html relative linking.." would have a far greater effect than the multiple off-topic posts present in this thread.
Speaking of which........
I created this thread to discuss linking to this oft-forgotten Wiki page from the Auctions page. Is that doable?
This thread is closed to new posts.
However, you are welcome to reference it
from a new thread; link this with the html
