You know how your browser might freeze or lock-up and you just don't want to restart it? Here's a trick to access the internet from the MS calculator:
  1. You realize your stupid browser locked up on you. You cuss and hit the computer.
  2. Open your MS Calculator. This is normally found in Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Calculator.
  3. Open the help window by pressing the F1 key.
  4. Click the top-left corner question mark icon of the help window once.
  5. Select "Go to / Jump to URL..."
  6. Type your address into the available field, but remember to type http://, and not just www. (or equivalent).
Don't believe me? Try it out!

That's a function of MS Help, not the calculator. That works with pretty much any application that uses Help, including notepad and solitaire ;)

Yeah, I know, but the MS Calculator seemed out-of-the-blue. ;)

this is an old one, but what is worse is when u do....

same procedure - get to help etc etc.

but instead of typing a url, type

C:\

and you will see your C drive

that is an easy way to get to the local disks of a 'locked down' machine...

cheers M$ xD
