Yup Another idea. (in General)

This one is more about giving people some free will with their characters, but without upsetting the balance of the game. Basically once every 3, 6, or 12 months (up to someone else) People can untrain, reink, and hire/fire minions for free. Heres the catch. Everything done during this day (of the players choosing, so to make it okay for someone who had to miss the day cus of vacation or something) would last for only 24 hours. So an example. If you started your day as a 5k score, PR, and MPR character. Wth 2 minions and certain skills and 500 xp and 100k gold on the character I would freeze like that. And no matter what you do during those 24 hours, Money, xp, none of it changes. Score mpr pr all stay the same.

So why? Because it will allow people to try crazier strategies with only the loss of 1 day of BA, instead of 20 mil for hiring a new minion thats destined to fail.

The problem is, this probably is impossible to program. I don't know much about programming and that field, but from what I know, that kind of thing could get REAL messy. But I curious if anyone even likes the idea, and curious if its possible. Oh, and if its not possible, let everyone dream bartjan. Don't crush it immediately. Please lol?

ok out of your other ideas i like this the most...i give props to this as no one came up with it before, but it is real messy, and a lot of people dont want to throw a way a days worth of BA, thats what happened with the clans when Jon made sunday into non clan fighting day, everyone who were in calns and could fight on sunday got upset.

BootyGod July 26 2006 3:45 PM EDT

Yeah, this idea I liked the most too. But I just don't see how it is possible. I HOPE it is, but hope and realism are very different things.

I actually came up with this before. But my suggestion involved using "untraining" tokens that let you use them at your discretion, and you earn them by doing certain things. That way you would still get BA, but you would need these tokens to do any kind of free untraining stuff.

BootyGod July 26 2006 4:12 PM EDT

Well, the downside to the token thing would be it would help the higher levels far more. But maybe if you needed more tokens for the same untraining at higher levels it could work.

It would probably be easier to design a simulator.

By that I mean create a program designed to look like the training room, where people can just 'give' their minions exp. So they could split up 1.2 mill exp between their minions to see what their stats would end up like.

You could also allow people to 'create' their own items and equip them to their teams on their program... and calculate the overall MPR and PR of the team.

Shouldn't be hard at all to create since everyone knows how the experience curve and how weapons add to PR. And you could get an idea of how well a certain build would compete at higher levels.

And if someone really got into the project they could probably calculate maximum, minimum and average damage based on stats. But that would actually require some thinking as far as Physical Damage goes although it probably isn't all that hard.

I actually looked for a simulator for CB on the net like I described above. Cause I know other games that involve a lot of planning and strategy that are only half the size of CB have them. They're really helpful because they actually let you see what your shooting for and stop you from screwing up.

I just had to do my stats for different builds on notepad where i gave a 1 minion team 10 mill exp to see where he ended up and then gave a 4 minion team 2.5 mill exp a minion to see how they were in comparison. The stats of the 4 minion team prolly should've been higher because of the exp curve but I don't think it made THAT MUCH of a difference.

Not a bad idea. As much as you think it would be, it's probably not extremely hard to implement.

QBOddBird July 26 2006 6:57 PM EDT

I REALLY like the simulator idea. Problem is, you would want effect levels, and who has the formulas to implement those?

{Quitter}Gah July 26 2006 7:13 PM EDT

The formulae are not easy to find.. What this would do would be to let you fight people so you could see who you could beat after retraining/hiring. Hard to make a simulator for the battles when there are so many equations and factors to take into account.
