How I learned to love seekers or how to use them against the defender. (in General)

So OK Johnnywas does this to me, I figure share the wealth. Basically his team has no true mage nor any true DD spell. So, he trains a small DD (one so small that AMF at 1.00 causes like 10HP damage) on his wall or enchanter that is most able to absorb and mitigate physical damage. When I attack him with seekers equipped I lose everytime. When he attacks me while I have seekers equipped I lose everytime. When I use regular arrows I win (sometimes) draw (more often) and flat out lose (rarely).

So, make those who are equipping seekers for entirely defensive purposes pay. Make them hit exactly the target you want and maybe it makes the difference in the fight. It does for Johnnywas and I.

I'd be happy were that to happen to me, unless he can be bothered inspect you every time he fights switch back to regular ammo when he is hitting you and get some free rewards.

Oh, to be honest, the seekers do not actually do anything for me right now. I am sure that as I grow and more targets become available I will have applications where seekers make a difference.

The main key to this thread is, for those people who equip seekers defensively and then go to bed.

:D Go Johnny go! :D

I did that with ranger a few times ;) it's fun when the start trying to farm you and you switch up and pick up a few extra wins that way. Just monitor your Score, it updates after each fight, when you see it drop instead of going up, stop and switch up.

People actually use seekers?

Rubberduck[T] [Hell Blenders] July 27 2006 7:24 PM EDT

Only ever for defense though I often forget to unequip them before fighting.
A related point, single mages with DD familiar often do better versus seekers than regular.

:) Heh. What I've actually done, seeing as how we are sharing, is use base FB on my enchanters to protect my wall. Without them, with an AoI on my tank, Seft was taking out my wall in the first two rounds. That was fine, but as his damage rose he was taking out the wall in one round. The enchanters went in the next two. At that point Seft's tank was faster than mine and, due to me having BL I was still attacking one of the other minions. So I was very vulnerable to attack.

With the DD spells trained my wall was still around for round three and sometimes surviving into round four. Which meant my tank could last that little bit longer, giving me the edge.

With normal arrows it's back to the wall being hit first, and Seft's archery giving him an edge.

Poor mage teams. They have no answer for seekers...

P.S. I love Dr. Strangelove!

velvetpickle July 28 2006 6:08 PM EDT

The only response to seekers is PL, but with some of the blows from a good sized ELB, even with an adequately sized PL, the absorbing minion won't last long enough..... it seems

{Quitter}Gah July 28 2006 8:01 PM EDT

If only I had another minion.. :(

Shake Some Action July 28 2006 8:08 PM EDT

Winning by way of seekers is akin to kissing your cousin. :)

{Quitter}Gah July 28 2006 9:56 PM EDT

So.. It's okay?

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] July 28 2006 10:03 PM EDT

But everyone looks at you like you're doing something dirty! ;) LOL!

{Quitter}Gah July 28 2006 10:40 PM EDT

hmm.. better find a room then so no one is starring disgustedly (thats not a word; is it? well spellcheck says it's okay)

QBJohnnywas July 28 2006 10:44 PM EDT

One of my cousins looks like Natalie Imbruglia. Only better looking.

Mem July 28 2006 11:56 PM EDT

I think they coined the term "kissing cousins" just for you, Johnny.
