Please help with strategy's. (in General)

It's time to make a new strategy, my current one, only loses. I seem to stay at the 42,000 range Score. No matter how much BA i spend, I get no further. So i was wondering if you guys and gals could possibly give me some tips on a Tank build. I plan on using my current Minion, and just sell his stats back for all the exp. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I know i've been around a long time, and you would think I knew this stuff by now, but your wrong -.- Hehe. Thanks again.

You've two initial choices for a single minion tank:

ToA or no ToA. ToA lets you put a lot of that xp into HP, helping you make a much bigger minion. You then have xp to spare for perhaps AMF and VA. Put some extra into dex to raise that stat a bit. That will help you gain extra strikes per round. No ToA means you can equip all the bonus giving armours, like the trollskin armour, and have a high amount of AC.

And then you've further choices: archery or bloodlust. Pick a skill and then focus your cash spend on ranged or melee. Whichever you pick means you won't need to spend massive amounts of cash on the other one. So if you go archery, get the best bow you can find and pump it for damage. Then you only really need an average melee weapon. And vice versa.

Then even further choices: fast or strong. Concentrating on the dex side of your tank will help you in a number of ways. You will hit more often, your enemies will miss you sometimes. But if you go down the strong route you will hit harder. Work out which will give you more damage across an overall battle. There is a middle ground, where you can get multiple strikes per round and do decent amounts of damage.

Fast means getting items that give you less dex penalties. Elven boots for instance.

Going down the strong route means you can put heavier armours on as speed isn't so important.

There are other factors to consider. If your tank is wearing items like the trollskin armour and maybe a mage shield then you can do without amf and maybe use dispel magic. But if you're wearing a ToA then AMF is probably indispensible as you will otherwise be vulnerable to mages.

But your damage potential at early levels as a tank is a lot greater so it does balance out.

There are a lot of other options too. If you've other questions I can answer give me a shout. :)

You could also use a ToE - check out Vaynard's character Stalker and Shadowsparkle's character Failure. Both of their tanks were single minions until quite recently and the way their stats are spread out - especially the dex is a good example of how to build a good tank.

:D I think Johnny has just about covered everything! ;)

How much cash do you have, and how many tank items do you already have?

If you don't have a lot, it might be worth staying as a mage for a while, building cash to get the items you need to make your tank work. :)

If you really want to be a tank though you could go UC for a while until you can afford to get some decent weapons.

My ideal UC build is ToA, Helms, and maybe some Elven Boots. Then Let the ToA take care of st/dex. (You may need some addition to dex at some point but only to increase the amount of strikes you hit).

Then spread your xp 40% into HP, 40% to UC and the remainder into AMF and VA. You can build a large-ish AMF and then leave it - and the VA you can pump to the level of your most powerful blow then leave it for a while, building it up at intervals.

Equip a bow - compound, or if you're lucky Elb - and you're away. The key to UC is to raise the UC skill itself highly. The more XP you can afford to put into it the better.

Try starting with 2 minions.
And aim it all on ranged. With MM and a huge ranged weapon.

and unretire the NCB, otherwise you will take ages to get it to nice MPR. if its possible then

Oh hey, I didn't see the NCB char! Use that one! Don't bother with the existing char. You will grow so much more quickly with the NCB. BA costs are expensive but if you're going to go tank you won't be able to afford BA anyway. Oh yeah NCB all the way.....good catch HB
