The TJK has been the sole holder of a "skill" known as Endurance since the beginning of cb2, I'd like to see it become a skill choice for any minion. The TJK still has the ability to train more than one skill (a wish I'll save for later) so it does not completely negating it's unique coolness.
I also think the ToE needs to be converted to a different system, one that works more like AC, but with a linear point for point style progression of reduction rather than percentage based.

I like it.
I don't like the ToE conversion thing though.
I will not explain my two preferences. Ha.

Nope, that's the only nice thing that makes TJK unique. When it's available for skill, that brings a lot of balancing to do, especially for the already strong TOA tanks (even without Bloodlust) which the only hold back is lack of AC. And needless to say, the mages too.
:)
I've always liked the idea of making Endurance a skill.
The only sticking point that came to me, is what would happen to a minion training endurance, and wearing a ToE?

They would stack just like evasion and DBs? Everything in this game has a level.

Doesn't protection actually work in a similar way to endurance? I seem to recall Jon letting at least that much slip in the past....

Perhaps, but it is an independent layer. So, it can't _really_ work like endurance...

way back when....in Jan 2005 the mighty ToE wasn't actually working properly. It would only work if protection was cast. That was fixed, but that (especially Jon's response to my question in the changelog thread) implied that endurance and protection were actually the same thing, just with a different name...

I've never seen any indication that Protection wasn't a percentage based negation of damage without a cap.

So do you really need endurance as a skill if you already have protection?
Yes, because endurance has both a cap, and a linear progression, an endurance of 1 mil going up against an attack of 1 mil will still only block 750k. Getting protection to the point where it blocks 75% + of a hit is likely well above the 1 mil mark, and the worst XP investment ever.

Getting Protection to the point where it blocks just 35% of damage is above the 1 mil mark.
Is the effect of protection simply a percentage damage reduction?
NightStrike, there are a few threads about it, but as I understand it...yes it's a fixed percentage reduction.
