What's the real use of Exbows? (in General)

Exbows are useless
This link guides you to a post with major STR adding equipment.
Also some arguments are listed there stating that even with low low str a tank with a huge weapon can still do major damage.
What is the point of having exbow's then?
Is it so even if you drain the STR from, for instance, SNKER's tank it still does massive damage on you?
Is the weapon multiplier times it's base the major variable in the damage equation?

And now with the recent AoI changes
It seems the exbow has lost yet another advantage.
No one uses the exbow in there strat. Maybe for a mini-tank.

My point to this story is as following: if the exbow is designed to drain STR at such a rate to lower the damage taken, why doesn't it do what the exbow is designed for?
Did the forge dwarf destroyed the plans?
Is the exbow at this point complety useless?

You can argue that everything has it's function in CB, however the function of the exbow and its's purpose eludes me.

At x3500 or something like that, the Exbow drains 100% STR. That's not too useless...just doesn't work against AoI.

*shrugs* Seems to me that Jon just gave it a weakness, seeing as how when someone got the x up high enough it was going to totally destroy tanks.

With the highest EXBow currently x488, getting to x3500 will take a while. ;)

Time and money are two different things, GL. ;)

Actually, OB, I'm pretty sure you don't need it anywhere NEAR x3500 to completely nullify tanks. x3500 just nullifies them completely, and in one hit. Plus, since you get two ranged rounds...

I'd think that even x1000 would be incredibly potent. That might just be me, and I have no formulae to back me up, but hey. Whatever.

/me loves his EXBow.

the larger ax bows can drain a mil dex as they are now, I could see complete elimination of STR for non AoI multi minion tanks being a reality...

Yes but even with complete STR drain, does the weapon still do uber damage? Thats the point.
And if so, whats the point then of the exbow?

Before the new tank buff, I tried and I think it was working pretty well considering the massive advantage mages had, a strat using the three least loved pieces of CB.

UC/exbow/RoBF.

The idea was, that with UC you could use all your weapon allowance on the exbow. The idea was that you would want them to hit you (thus losing the Gi based evasion was not bad) but yet not want them to do much damage when they did. The RoBF does X damage regardless of how much they hurt or even IF they hurt as long as they hit you.

I think with the new tank buff this would still hold true somewhat, however; with the AoI and PL additions of late, this may no longer be viable.

Yet in concept it seemed to be quite interesting. I would love to see someone brave enough to try it now.

P.S. does the RoBF still grant some sort of evasion? If so then it is about the most incosistent bonus I have ever seen given an item. I mean the whole purpose of the RoBF is to do damage when hit, yet it offers evasion making you harder to hit.

no more evasion for the RoBF, and each hit to the minion does damage, so UC isn't a great choice for it any longer.
