Chapter 10
Red felt himself soaring through an open void and saw faces of people as he was falling. He saw Thoop, and Leon, and Desy. He stretched out to reach Desy's face, but before he touched it, Pixels face appeared and Red awoke in a cold sweat. He sat there for a moment and took in his bearings and saw that he was in a small room, he couldn't see a door or any windows, all he could see was a drain in the middle of the floor and a little can on one side of the room. He got up, he felt his head throbbing with pain as he did. He began to walk around the room, feeling the walls as he went, looking for any signs of something to get out of there, as he approched the drain, he heard faint footsteps coming from a side of the room. He ran back into the corner he awoke in, and laid down pretending to sleep but keeping an eye open a bit just in case something came in. One of the walls began to move slightly, and he saw 2 figures step into his little room. They looked mid-sized, not really built, but not lazy, he could take them, he thought to himself.
"Ha. Look at that Frod, still out like a light, I don't think Jonathan should have made those darts so strong, this kids only a stick, that much of a dose, he'll be out for another week in here!"
"Yeah, well, at least we get paid good to just come in here and look at him for a second, let's get out of here and get some BBQ."
As they began to walk back to the door, Red jumped up and threw himself at the one of the men and smoothly, with the skill of a fighter, snapped his neck and let him drop to his feet, Red looked at the other guy with bloodlust eyes, and watched as he ran away. Red picked up the dagger that was in the mans belt, and threw it at the man running, Red watched the dark figure stumble for a second, then fall flat on the ground. He quickly ran and grabbed the dagger from the mans back and withdrew into the shadows of the hall.
Desy could feel herself being pulled up and shaken, she weaily opened her eyes and saw the face of a man she thought she would never have to see.
"Y...y....you.....", she weakly managed to say, "What are you doing here?"
"What am I doing here?!", said the man, "Haha, this is my castle my sweetheart, and you and I are going to rule over all Ecthelion by the time this little war is over and done with."
"I'd never help you Jonathan."
"Oh... I beg to differ."
Red crawled along the walls in the shadows until he found what appeared to be an exit, he quietly opened the door and walked through it. He sheilded his eyes from the blinding light of the sun and took a quick look around and ran. He ran for some time, and he felt his legs weaking, he glanced around at his surroundings, but all he could see was sand and rocks of this barron desert. He kept walking and slowly he felt his legs giving up and his eyes wanting to shut. He tried to fight it for as long as he could, and before he could catch himself, he collapsed onto the ground.
