I feel like you just advertised mozy to me hehe.

But nice to know you watch TV =D. Makes you seem not so creepy guy in corner lol.

Maelstrom October 12 2006 5:58 PM EDT

Cool! Good publicity! Guess you weren't featured, though ;)

Now, the next step is to get CB featured on the news. Maybe you could add some referral links to Mozy? Or after someone uploads data, they're directed to CB? :P

Thank god for back-ups :D

th00p October 12 2006 6:01 PM EDT

Sounds cool. For a minute I thought you meant CB was going to be on NBC, but I guess that's a night/weekend job or just a plain hobby.

AdminJonathan October 12 2006 6:01 PM EDT

Mael: I tried to buy CB advertising on the Mozy newsletter early on, but I was turned down. I'm still not sure if Josh didn't think I was serious, or if he doesn't really want to associate Mozy with us. :)

Maelstrom October 12 2006 6:06 PM EDT

Come on, you're on the development team, right? Add some secret back-door in the software ;)

Or maybe add a note to the CB login page mentioning Mozy. Maybe it'll make CB show up when people google for the now-famous backup software ;)

That is killer Jon!

I suggested a couple people use Mozy recently. The only drawback they saw? You guessed it: It was new and scary and they didn't understand it, so they were scared of it. Apparently even me in my infinite patience was unable to convince them otherwise.

Cool service, I remember looking at it when you posted it before. Although, I personally would rather have a second hard drive, and I would rather not send my information to some remote location.

Flamey October 12 2006 10:35 PM EDT

nice publicity jon.

what was that at the end? Google buys Youtube? WHAT??!

QBsutekh137 October 13 2006 12:51 AM EDT

Let me know when that Mac version is ready. 2 GB is more than twice as much as I need. *smile*

AdminJonathan October 13 2006 10:39 AM EDT

you can sign up for notification when the mac version is ready here

QBsutekh137 October 13 2006 2:29 PM EDT

Sure, I _could_ sign up for notification, but now I know a guy on the "inside"... I can't be bothered to give out my e-mail address! *smile*

I caved in and made an account.

Thanks for letting me know it's out there.

Flamey, technically there was no "buy-out" as such as there
was absolutely no cash involved. I can't remember the
finer details but I think I remember (don't hold me to this)
that Google were already the major shareholder with over half in YouTubeanyway meaning they technically had ownership.
