For those of you stubbornly using IE (in General)

IE7 is officially out now and sucks less than IE6. And CB runs fine.

Kind of weird that the File menu is hidden by default but I can see why they would go that way -- when was the last time YOU used the File menu? Yeah, me neither.

Also it fixes whatever weirdness IE6 used to do that made it reload the mochikit library CB uses with each request. Since this is a hefty library it meant that I avoided using it when possible. So in a year when nobody uses IE6 anymore this probably will be fixed without me having to do anything. :)

PS if bart or someone else really smart wants to tell me what is up with IE6 always reloading mochikit, I'd be happy to have that problem solved a year early too. :)

Also I clearly need to ban all the posers whose name contain the string "bart," so the spellchecker recognizes that as a legitimate abbreviation of "bartjan."

Think I'll get some sleep now.

sorry but, what is IE?

I think IE7 is a dream come true. I haven't tested it yet, but I heard its usefulness is in the Firefox zone. No more issues with making websites cross-compatible! I'm assuming they FINALLY made PNG's usable? And hopefully updated the CSS all the way?

Hellooooo better CB themes... after I get the new theme engine coded, that is.

i use IE7.. i love it..

FF for me, is soooo slow.. only reason i use it, is to be able to use Verifex's Script

"I'm assuming they FINALLY made PNG's usable?"

yes

"And hopefully updated the CSS all the way?"

not really, no, but it's better than IE6 at least.

yay for more themes!

And Micro$oft bombs it again...

IE7 is much better then IE6. I think one thing that I was upset about however, is that inline images don't work in IE7. For instance: this doesn't work in IE7.

BTW you guys will love FF2, I was checking it out the other day, and it is incredible, it has built in spellchecking inside form elements. Woo!

[P]Mitt October 22 2006 10:48 PM EDT

Yeah, FF2 is AWESOME! It includes basically all of my favorite extensions, with no need to download additional extensions!

AdminJonathan October 23 2006 11:56 AM EDT

here's a list of CSS support in IE7 (thanks slashdot)

Adminedyit [Superheros] October 23 2006 5:24 PM EDT

/me can't get IE7 on this pile :(

AdminQBVerifex October 23 2006 6:13 PM EDT

I thought it was strange that they mention positioniseverything.net and didn't mention quirksmode.org at all, but then I read this on quirksmode.org:

The MSIE team seems to have used my site for bug testing, although almost all discussed bugs come from Position is Everything, and rightly so, since Big John and Holly Bergevin have far more interesting and detailed bug reports than my own CSS section.

AdminQBVerifex October 23 2006 6:15 PM EDT

Speaking of bugs, looks like my GM script has a heart attack on this thread now since I used a "blockquote" tag, and my script does some magic with the blockquote tag. D'oh!
