Football. (in Off-topic)

I was curious to see how many other people out there are like myself and involved in High school football.

My team just won the Division 6 level II playoff game against the only team we lost to this year so far (against defending Division 7 state champion Pacelli). Round III will be against defending D6 state champ Stratford (who has not lost to a Wisconsin team in 4 years), so it will be an interesting fight.

Are you talking about football (soccer) or the version of Rugby Americans play with body armour?

Flamey October 29 2006 3:13 PM EST

body armour, GL, body armour.

I don't see why they need it :P

no, its not fair, armor up there is spelled correctly.

I speak of American Football with the "Body Armour". Sorry that my ignorance of other sports may have caused any confusion.

Hm, I'm not much of a Football fan, but my team (Mountain View High) just crushed Homestead in our Homecoming game (43-7 or something)

I'm more of a marching band groupie :) I've got lots of friends in the MB.

:P NP Duredhel!

I have heard that Soccer is getting a larger following in the States, as people have started to realise you don't have to be a massive Jock to do well. ;)

Although Soccer can be a nasty game! Causes more injuries than Martial Arts! ;)

Hooligan riots don't count. :P

LOL! :D

BootyGod October 30 2006 10:25 AM EST

armour lol. Whats the point of bashing into someone if you can't do it with a cannonball for a head!?

And hooligan riots do too count. Without them, what would Europeans have to be mad at besides the Americans?

And check out Cross Keys High School in Georgia. Will make any school feel good about their team. Ick...

I would have to say the biggest following of Futbol is Mexico, I traveled there with my Spanish class this summer during the world cup and the whole country shut down during the game. Ciudad de Mexico( world's largest city with 30 Million inhabitants) had a Massive TV screen set up in the Zocalo(town square). I just felt the need to excercise some of my learned Spanish over the past 4 years. Unfortunatly my English is suffering according to the checker :(

The team in my area has lost every game and scored a total of 21 points this season. 14 of the 21 they've scored were against a team that also had no wins...until they played us.

A higher % of our passes are intercepted than caught.

We have a negative yards punt (he kicked it backwards, don't ask me how, the kicker sucks)

And to be honest, the boys don't know how to tackle. I think they've all been hugged too much....that's all they seem to be doing on the field.

But I go to watch on occasion anyways. Why? It's funny. ^_^
