Could not get on must be down!

go to Run> type "cmd"

type "ping http://www.freechess.org/ "

Then look at the times and if it times out, it's down.

[Side note:Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. It all depends on how they blocked you.]

In case you can't do that, it is in fact down atm.

if he were firewalled away from it, chances are ping wouldn't work either

well thanks I knew something was wrong and couldn't figure out if it was me they blocked from work :) ...but sure when they come back online I'm game for some chess..My name there is "Sharked" Shark was already taken back in 1996 ..all are welcome to play and its FREE!!!

weird their website is down. let me guess, you use jin applet to connect? try using winboard or any other chess interface to connect. i have no problems connecting using winboard.

okay I sure will but I can't use Winboard, Babachess,Thief, or anything except JIN..I play at work ...oops..and I cant download anything.. thats why I was using the JIN java applet..but when they get back up I'll be so happy I can get back to playing some games with some people here if they sign up..very unusual that they have been down so long now, but it happens
