QBPit Spawn [Abyssal Specters] November 9 2006 3:34 PM EST

anyone else pick it up?

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] November 9 2006 3:37 PM EST

I'll think I'll be heading up with a friend of mine tomorrow or tonight to get it...
I get to see all the newest games without even owning a silly console!

So, everyone who reviews this game can't shut up about how great it is. But here's my question: is there an option to turn down the blood & guts level? I'm okay with the level of violence in, say, Halo, or Devil May Cry, but I'm not sure I'd be into watching heads explode.

QBPit Spawn [Abyssal Specters] November 11 2006 1:56 PM EST

yea, of course theres a filter, pretty much any game with alot of gore has the filters for it

AdminQBVerifex November 11 2006 10:44 PM EST

When you play Oblivion into some of the Vampire lairs and such, there are some pretty gory things you find. And the screenshots from GoW look much worse then that. Add onto that the fact that the screenshots from GoW make the violence level in it look a little over-the-top, and this coming from an avid shoot-em-up Quake, Doom, FPS guy.

Just went over to my friends house today, He picked up the game a few days ago and told me about it. It is Awesome! I recommend GoW for any of those Halo/Battlefield 2 Enthusiasts. Anyways, My gamer tag is Limpy Noodles so hit me up on there and well get in a game together.

/me loves the commercial

The commercial has a better plotline then most movies... and it does it in about 30 seconds!

Yea it is a lot of fun, and some of the campaign levels are fairly scary. It is pretty gory, but theres a filter where you can turn that off or at least down. Multiplayer is also great, its tactical but still manages to be fast paced too.

I went over to my buddy's place and we beat it the other night, while getting drunk. Let me tell you, this is a fairly tough game to beat, let alone while you're drunk.

As far as the gore goes, it's only this weird pink alien blood. It was kind of neat the first time I sawed a Locust in half and his weird pink alien blood splattered all over the screen. Of course, I can see how many parents wouldn't want their child to experience such a rush of violence...

Very good game on the whole. Awesome story, and as previously mentioned, definitely more to it than most feature length films.

I think this question really needs to be asked.

As gory as this film may be, could the lead character take on Bruce Campbell and even come close to victory?

:P

Why don't I have a Xbox 360!? The game looks so cool, I hope the PC version will be up to par...

I need a better video card. :S

And the Bruce can't be beaten. Ever.

Brakke Bres [Ow man] November 15 2006 1:50 PM EST

Dont think it will come to the PC, awell you can always try to run an emulator.

Eurynome Bartleby [Bartleby's] November 15 2006 1:55 PM EST

Just read an article saying it will indeed be out on Pc, and it has been confirmed by Epic Games...and another who says that is not the case...I sure hope I can play that, though they say it won't be out before mid 2007 if it does come out.

Zoglog[T] [big bucks] November 15 2006 2:12 PM EST

I bet the lead character of the game doesn't have corny catchphrases as great as "Let's kill us a witch" either.
