CTH Revisited (in General)

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] November 10 2006 8:35 AM EST

I want to post some ruselts of a fight I had with a target against whom I have 75.6% less Dexterity.

I'm using a +40 weapon and have 24,400 Dex compared to my targets 100K. My target has no Evasion or DBs to reduce my PTH.

For 10 fights, these are my hits landed to attacks;

9/15
9/16
10/15
10/17
10/20
9/9
10/18
9/14
9/13
10/22

While it varied from 50% to 100%, I had an average CTH of 61.7%.

I thought the dex gap would provide more. If the base CTH for a 1 Handed wepaon is 62.5%, my +40 PTH is making up for a 75.6% Dex difference.

:/

Where did you get the 62.5% for CTH of a 1-handed weapon?

The base 50% at equal dex was changed, with a 50% gap between 1 and 2H. 1H went up and Jon stated it wasn;t 75% to 50%.

It's thought that it's 50% * 1.25 (62.5%) for 1H and 50% * 0.75 (37.5%) for 2H.

It would be interesting to repeat your experiment with a base weapon.

then I would say the "thought to be" is way off.

As requested. With a base Tulwar. ;)

32/250

Average CTH: 12.8%

It's interesting that I managed to hit at least once in every fight.

I know this isn't really a large sample size, but it looks like +40 PTH is helping my hit rate by about 49%. Proabaly about right for a +40 weapon.

Now, if my base chance is 62.5, and the dex gap is a perecntage reduction to CTH I'd come out with an average 15.25 CTH... Not too far off.

;)
