"Deliver new chatmail in chat applet" is NOT selected. However, I constantly receive every new CM as a PM in the chat applet. Well, ok, not every. It's just when I'm idle, I think. Or perhaps when I'm automatically logged out of the site but still connected to chat.

if someone CMs you from chat and you're online, it will always be delivered in chat.
How do you send a CM from chat?

Enter the username in the "PM to:" box. In the 'PM:' box, type "/mail [message here]".
