10K to find an old game (in Contests)

Small prize, small game. ;)

This one will be quite difficult though. I can't remember the name, but I'm after an old Spectrum game.

It was turn based, had very basic graphics (I remember just a black playing field) and revolved around 'summoning monsters'.

The game sticks in my mind as I'd just had 4 teeth removed at the dentists, and when I got home I couldn't stop the bleeding. So I sat up, with wads of kitchen towel in my mouth, playing this specturm game. ;)

wasn't that a game where you had to shoot spider in a circle that were climing up?

No AoD. It was a bare field you had to square off versus another summoner and summon creatures. there might have been some direct spells as well. :/

As an off topic, My found my Dad playin elite once, scribbing on a notepad next to him. I asked what he was doing, and he's attack a spacestaiton for fun, to see how many Vipers he could kill.

I think it was over 300 when I got there. ;)

There were no mazes or dungeon that I remember, just an arena you battled in. :/

I believe the game you are looking for is called Chaos (The Battle of the Wizards).
