Pirates or Ninjas (in Off-topic)
Which is better? You tell me!
Well pirates got it on fashion sense but ninjas bath, hum tough.I'm giving it to pirates because of the hats and the feathers.
I say pirates because gun trumps sword.
Ninjas used guns when they had to! After all they had a job to do.

Ninjas FTW!
You can't beat them if you can't see them ;)
Real ninjas aren't like the superhuman little kiddies on Naruto. They're human, they have better reflexes and are physically and mentally stronger, but not to the point where they can move so fast that you wouldn't be able to see them. That stuff's in the cartoons.

When I think of a ninja it isn't somebody who would engage in open combat. I think of them as stealthy assassins who do their work from the shadows, hence you can't see them.

Ninja Pirate Monkeys! Come on Barzoo, that's your cue...
Hey we need some one from Japan to get in this. Now if it was a toe to toe grudge match ,I would have to go with the Ninja. Though I bet the pirate would bite, points for style, but it still goes to the ninja.Oh yes don't I look christmasy !!
And pirates didn't have everything you normally associate with pirates either most of the time.
Just look at the good old English pirate Sir Francis Drake, he wore normal period clothing and there was no parrot in sight.

Ninja-Pirate FTW !
Well, pirates had guns, and they knew how to fence. Wooo!
I never understood fencing at sea like whats to fence in?Sea cows??
Pirates, cause who wants to sneak around where you can pillage...
as ninja would rather be patient and strike for the kill at the right time
if it came to a deathmatch in an arena, pirate vs nija, open combat pirate would win given he wasnt drunk and had a gun, the ninja has his respective throwing items that dont really kill,i think a ninja could own at close combat, but pirates ahve swords too...i guess it comes down to their skills
Let's see...
Ninja's fought Samurai.
Pirates fought Samurai, and won. ;)
pirates because of the movie... pirates of the carribean?
Yes, I just saw Dead Man's Chest yesterday, which I really liked. And the third movie, At World's End, is going to have Asian pirates! :o
zomg!! asian pirates?
They could be difficult to hit....
/me looks around
what if they are ninjas too?!

I'd have to go ninja mostly because of the scurvy thing...
Don't get me wrong pirates rock, but I like all of my teeth ;-)
I think they're supernatural Asian pirates as well. I believe I read somewhere that their ship will have the ability to regenerate minor wounds for the pirates on the ship.

Ninja.
:)
I think Flamey is the first person to vote for ninja. Too bad he didn't say why. Unless he was only saying ninja because everyone else said pirate.
Did you choose to ignore Mian and Gnu? That makes 3 and depending on what situation you mean Ninja could steal another vote from pirate because of Slash's comments.
That would actually nearly make it even.
Oh yes, I forgot about them. Hm. You seem cranky, Zog.
Everybody has gone home for Christmas so I'm here in Halls of Residence alone and nobody to go out drinking or anything with. I'm becoming increasingly nocturnal due to only having dailyepisodes.com and computer games as entertainment and I'm waiting for my girlfriend to come visit for a couple of days fully expecting her to start arguments over everything insignificant again.
I also have practically no money (only enough to buy y grandmother a present because she has bought one for both me and my gf) while only having a small choice of food and drink at my disposal and a packet of rapidly diminishing tobacco.
I think I'm quite happy considering the circumstances ;)
I lived or a week off of a Granary loaf of breat and a packet of butter at uni. ;)
It might have been for less time, I was very drunk. ;)
Soon I'll be back to small meals of pasta with a small amount of ketchup as the sauce as well as plain basmati rice, talk about having to pile on the carbs >.<

Ninjas look cooler and the ability to actually use weapons besides guns, is cool.
I'm not here to argue my point.
NINJA > PIRATE.
:)
Uh, no they don't. Ninjas use a sword. Shurikens weren't for attacking like in the movies. And pirates use things besides guns. They use cannons and swords. Ninjas definitely don't look cooler. They wear all black with some more black to cover their face. Wooo. Now pirates are cool-looking. Some look homeless, some look like kings.

I disagree.
Pirates are sea-borne criminals with little training and/or talent.
Ninjas are trained from youth and have talents in both warfare and stealth.
Plus...pirates settle for what damsels they can find out in the middle of the ocean. Pft. Ninjas are on the land with all the babes. But they are honorable, so they look for personality too. *snickers*

lol. (OB)
like I said, not here to argue.
No, I believe you're thinking of samurai. Ninjas aren't trained from youth, and they definitely aren't honorable, hence why they have to attack by stealth. And ninjas are also criminals, their only job is to retrieve information or kill others. And pirates don't have to have talent. They spend all of their time on ships sailing around the world, which builds up physical prowess. Plus, they attack other ships and stuff. And like I said before, gun trumps sword. But pirates have swords anyway, just in case.
Contrary to popular belief, pirates were far from drunken crazd pillagers that killed anybody that stood in the way of anything valuable.
The majority of pirates were traders whose only frequently committed crime was smuggling, yes, they sometimes were required to use force in situations where their honour and integrity were questioned but the idea that they blew any other ship out of the water for their loot is proposterous.
True buccaneers generally did things in a much more sensible and peaceful manner with the only battles involving those that gave true pirates the bad image we all think of.
I hate to use the same example but just look at Sir Francis Drake, he was good friends with the monarchy and made many new discoveries for the English people rarely using any form of violence.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buccaneer
"The Buccaneers were pirates who attacked French and Spanish shipping in the West Indies during the 17th and 18th centuries."
"Among the leaders of the Buccaneers was a Frenchman named Montbar, who destroyed so many Spanish ships and killed so many Spaniards that he was called "the Exterminator." Another noted leader was a Welshman named Henry Morgan, who formed a fleet of ships and showed so much military skill that he took strong fortresses and towns, stealing a huge amount from the Spanish."
You were saying?
As I said, there were a few who stained the images, bringing up 2 examples is nothing, plus the Spanish were trying to be at war with every civilization going at the time so he was doing a great service to the world.
I think it was the other way around the Spanish had all that gold and silver they plundered from the Americas. Not that they wouldn't have garroted anyone not an ally and thats not counting the inquisition. ( Cue Monty python )
Zog, I guess you only read some parts and totally ignore the others. The first line under History on the page was what I had quoted. ""The Buccaneers were pirates who attacked French and Spanish shipping in the West Indies during the 17th and 18th centuries." I guess there were few who strained from the image because the image was that they attacked merchant ships to steal from them?

What the heck are you guys, ninja and pirate scholars?
No Op I choose to ignore someone who solely uses Wikipedia as an information source. Wikipedia obviously takes the traditional negative view that has been portrayed so many times rather than the opposite view that the Spanish and occasionally French ships were the violent parties.
Wikipedia is a good information source for a quick fix when desperate for something but a lot of the information there is inaccurate and obviously one-sided, it isn't gospel.
Then would you mind pointing to a more qualified source as backup for your claim instead of spewing uncited information?
I would really love to tell you of all the history books I read as a child but funnily enough all these years later I can't remember the titles or authors, plus I'm far too busy to go searching through Google as I have a Christmas to prepare for.
Go ahead and claim this as a victory if you must but I'm just not petty enough to go gallivanting about copy and pasting a single website to prove something, especially one which can be edited by any member of the public.
Just because it can be edited by the public doesn't mean it's not legitimate. Judging from the information on the page and historical information within the related pages, it seems legitimate to me. But it's pretty funny that you can question the legitimacy of my source of information when you can't even cite a single source.
I could but I just can't be bothered, two completely different things.
I'm not interested in carrying on a petty argument such as this by jumping through your hoops.
Secondly, in relation to the 'historic information' on the related pages, that is hardly the case, the narratives are so vague and provide no artifacts as evidence that I felt awful for putting myself through the pain of reading it all.
Now, I apologize for my rudeness but I must have a shower and get ready to visit family. I have a feeling I'm going to find that trimming nostril hair is going to be more interesting than this.
Oh yes, I'm sure none of it's worth your time and it's completely uninteresting, yet each and every single time you reply. Heh. Believe it or not, it's possible to tell when someone is lying, even over the internet. If it's not important, why do you feel the need to reply and waste more of your time? :D

You guys are freaking nuts.
What part of this bar room brawl is freaking and which is nuts?Opvines just likes to debate, maybe he's a Master ?Of course Zogy is only a minor debater since he doesn't go for facts.Anyway I have to change my vote to Vikings, after due consideration of course!
No way! Vikings might have brute strength, but that's all they had, O think. I mean, no axe or sword or hammer or whatever is likely to save you from a pirate's gun... or cannon.
That does it I'm sending in an Israeli tank team .
