They want you to buy them hoping you will either:
1. Forget to process the mail in rebate.
2. Get so frustrated with the insane amount of hoops you have to jump through to actually get the rebate that you just give up.
If I were to buy something like this, I would assume up front that I would never see the rebate check, and spend my money accordingly.
Says a buck ninety nine now for that stuff, must be good stuff they doubled her !
