It's CB575 time again... (in Contests)
We haven't had a haiku/senryu contest in quite a while, so shall we? I think we shall. :)
Write me your best Haiku or Senryu. This edition's subject(s) will be:
Winter and/or,
Ponies and/or,
Carnage Blender Change Month and/or,
Ninja Pirate Monkeys and/or,
All of the above (which would be truly impressive)...
Rules:
1. Multiple entries are allowed.
2. PG people!
3. Don't be insulting to any individuals. I'll ask, and even be willing to pay an admin to remove your post if you do.
4. Deadline for submission is midnight Sunday/Monday (server time)
The prize will be a set of item namings!
I'll pick a winner next Monday at noon (server time)
Game on!
Oh, and here's a little refresher:
Haiku: A Japanese lyric verse form having three unrhymed lines of five, seven, and five syllables, traditionally invoking an aspect of nature or the seasons. Senryu: Japanese form of short poetry similar to haiku in construction. However, senryu tend to be about human foibles while haiku tend to be about nature, and senryu are often cynical or darkly humorous while haiku are serious. Senryu do not need to include a kigo, or season word, like haiku.

January cold.
Not even my FireBall heat
Can thaw the Top Ten.
So I wait and wait,
Yearning for more Changelog posts.
Then I can retrain!
Is MM better?
How much spent on Evasion?
What's a "Razor Shield"?
For now, pony and
Ninja Pirate Monkey thoughts
Are all that I have.
In the dreaming time,
I pull on my heavy coat.
Will it stop the cold?

through cold, on ponies
Ninja Pirate Monkeys ride
waiting for changes
So, onforth they go
Into the months upcoming
Still no word from Jon
Winter continues,
But no worry of the cold
Their hair will protect
Primate assassins,
And plunderers of the sea
With no end in sight
So, do carry on
Through good and bad conditions.
Until pony death.
Frost burns ponies stomp
Time blurs CB blends change month
Ninja monkeys thieve
Ninja Monkeys wait,
Hidden under Winter's snow,
Change Month Ponies near.
Upon Ponies ride,
Proud Ninja Pirate Monkeys,
"A-Har-De-Har-Har".
Towards Oz they trot,
A pungent scent did linger,
A yellow snow road?
That's my Haiku story in a NUTshell. ;)
winters heart lost now

The contest ended
on January 14th
but still no winner
Sorry, everyone. This week the company I work for was bought by our biggest competitor (a multinational monster) just so they could take our biggest clients and shut us down in 90 days.
So, I have 90 days to help them move my job halfway across the country, and then I am unemployed. So, as of now, my CB time will be limited to evenings and weekends for a while (I'm only sneaking on now because the last of the "corporate types" have left for the day.)
Anyway, the point to my story is, sorry I haven't picked a winner yet, but I'll try to do it tonight after dinner...
:P

Redundancy looms
and it's no laughing matter
Beee wishes you well
Okay, I have picked a winner!
Not only an impressive volume of work, but an impressive quality volume of work was submitted by all. However, one poet in particular stood out. And the successful use of "fix better" clinched it!
Congratulations, Sut! Contact me at your convenience so we can work out the logistics of your namings!
And thanks everyone else for playing! Especially G_Beee - I laugh hysterically every time I read "The glue works well though".
:)
