Why do I sometimes get this?
Hal: Str - 57,986 DX - 57,986
And sometimes this
Hal: Str - 57,986 DX - 23,194

Ethereal Chains can drain that, as well as Axbow and Exbow.

It doesn't use a melee weapon, so if it lasts into melee, there is a huge DX penalty for using a bow...

57,986*0.4 = 23194.4 so that is your DX after the 60% penalty for using a bow in melee.
