Sometimes the battle will indicate that i've regenerated hp, but sometimes it doesn't show. Is there some factor that determines whether the minion regenerates hp or not? or is there something wrong with the display?

Apparently AS based HP don't count, so until your minion's
trained HP go down, no regen.
Does that explain what you were seeing ?

that makes sense.. thank you.. does the [+] on it increase the amount of regenerated hit points?

I believe it regenerates a fixed 5% of you total TRAINED HP. The additional [+] are treated as AC.
Yes it only regenerates a set 5% and the rest are counted as +ac and +str bonus.

AS sucks. Finally an item that not only rocks, with a unique application, but one that is counter to the 4 minion AS strat!

It's also not compatible with VA...
Yeah sucks for tanks with no hp I regenerate 1 HP per round...
