My band is playing in Racine, Wisconsin (in Off-topic)

Hey people-
The melodic death metal band that i play guitar, keys, and sing lead for is playing a show at McAulfie's Pub in Racine Wisconsin [not far from Milwaukee and Chicago].

The stuff we play is kinda like Arch Enemy / In Flames / Strapping Young Lad / God Forbid / Kill switch Engage / Metallica / Alice In Chains.

We're playing with a group called Nolo Contendre who do experimental / progressive punk stuff, and Binky Tunny and the Farmland Choke hold- picture a Budweiser slamming, leather chaps wearing female fronted amalgamation of AC/DC, the Ramones, Skid Row, and Black Sabbath.
Seriously, Binky rules, dude... but keep your hands off, because she's going home with me!

Anyhow, if you need directions or something just ask, and feel free to come up to me and introduce yourself.

So... your band?

"The stuff we play is kinda like Arch Enemy / In Flames / Strapping Young Lad / God Forbid / Kill switch Engage / Metallica / Alice In Chains."

Especially in reguards to the last two, nice name drop :)

Interesting... btw, none of this is with the intent to flame, I'd go see u guys if you ever came to my area :)

does melodic death metal mean you sing like the guy from creed when you're not screaming?

SaintChristopher January 17 2007 2:50 PM EST

Yup, my band. Not really name dropping, just the bands we've been compared to.

No, when I'm not screaming [actually more yelling], we do 4 part vocal harmonies and counterpoint, very Alice In Chains-y, that sort of bluesy but really dark / minor key vibe.

And referencing a thread from last month on real life tattoos, i got my angel wings on my back- the outline is finished, and the fill is started. I'll be proudly displaying them at the show [as you can tell from my pic, i play shirtless].

where are the mp3's?

AdminG Beee January 17 2007 3:10 PM EST

I've never heard of any of those groups and don't know what really dark / minor key vibe is.

Do you cover any of the Carpenters or Simon & Garfunkle stuff ?

sounds of silence makes an alright metal song...

G Beee hehe but seriously can't we get a few samples??

SaintChristopher January 17 2007 5:01 PM EST

alright, there's mp3's up at www.myspace.com/mothernoose
but they're a few years old- the first 2 were recorded the first week i started singing (before i knew what i was doing in other words) and before i got the rest of the group adding harmonies. The other 2 are under some old singers of ours.

We'll have a DVD / demo CD out soon, so when that comes out, consider it with an open mind after listening to the old stuff.

G Beee- actually, we used to cover "Hazy Shade of Winter". "Sounds of Silence" is a beautiful song.

We'll have some new mp3s up on Monday- i just got my hands on the raw audio recording from a live DVD we'll be releasing. Not the greatest sound quality, but at least its up to date.
