Ok, I'm adding PL to my second minion on my NCB, Vengence, Now I would like to figure out a "roughly perfect level" for this. Now if I understand what the Wiki it telling me.
my AS give me 5k hp plus that char has 600 hp alone so 5.5k hp (rough remember:P). So if I wanted him to absorb enough damage to die before my mage gets hurt, I would have to train PL to an Effect of 3000 to absorb 5400 damage? because 1.8 * 3000 = 5400.
If Im way of please tell me.

Or does it have to do with the actual amount of damage the attack is doing?
you need to gauge it on the largest hit you take like GA really as the effect is not the total amount you can absorb but the amount you can absorb of each attack.
Train PL a high enough level so that the amount in (brackets) is high enough to absorb all the blows you take from your opponents.
Each hit against you is counted seperately.
IE, 2 hits of 2000 each against a PL effect of 3000. The PL would absorb all the damage from both blows.
However, 1 blow of 4000 against the same PL, and it would absorb 3000, and the targeted minion would take the rest.

Personally, I set it up so that it absorbs up to 1/3 my PL minion's HP - that way, if you face a MM, it'll absorb from it for 3 rounds, which helps a lot to get you through ranged to melee. Same for FB. HoC messes this up, but whatever. I don't use PL anymore anyways.

When I was using it, I had it set up to absorb MOST of the damage
from the blows I was taking, allowing a little trickle through damage
which allowed me to keep more minions alive for longer against FB
teams (which I was fighting a lot).
It seemed to make sense to me at the time anyway.
With 5500 HP, you can absorb 5500 / 0.9, or 6112 points of damage before dying.
Figure out how much damage your mage takes per round. Call it X. Train PL to X / 1.8, and your mage will not take damage for an extra 6112 / X rounds.
